In the Chinese auto market, lidar is widely used, such as Weilai, Xiaopeng, Ideal, etc., either 1 is placed on the head as a "horn", or 2 is placed near the headlights, and there are even 3 or 4 lidar configurations, focusing on a "safety".

Fortunately, with the efforts of Hesai Technology, Suteng Juchuang and other manufacturers, the cost of lidar products has dropped again and again, otherwise so many hardware costs have piled up, let alone realizing "intelligent driving equality", and there is no chance of a price war.

In China, the earliest intelligent driving takes hundreds of degrees. Now, Baidu's high-end intelligent driving function has landed on Jiyue 01, but it has also chosen a pure visual intelligent driving solution.

Coincidentally, at the recent Huawei Harmony Ecosystem Spring Communication Conference, Yu Chengdong also debuted Huawei's pure visual intelligent driving solution HUAWEI ADS Basic Edition. Driven by "far ahead", the attention of the pure visual intelligent driving program has reached a new level.

From the integrated perception intelligent driving solution of lidar and high-precision maps, to the mapless intelligent driving that loses high-precision maps, and then to the pure vision of "the whole country can run" without lidar, it seems that the entire development line of intelligent driving is composed of these three stages.

Especially in the context of "reducing costs and increasing efficiency", the functionality and technology of intelligent driving are becoming more and more convergent. The low-cost pure visual intelligent driving solution has become more and more popular.

But I want to remind that at this stage, even Huawei is optimistic about the intelligent driving route, and there is a high probability that it will not be a wrong path. And other car companies, should they also put the "pure vision" technical route on the R&D agenda?

In fact, regarding intelligent driving, whether it is self-incubation or seeking external supply, there must be a Plan A and a Plan B. And in this complex and changeable era of new energy vehicles, the position on the card table will not be left to those who "lie" to make money.

As for the remaining part of the car companies that "know what they should do but do not do", they will eventually be submerged in the dust of the times.
