Recently, the staff of the maintenance department of Changning Green Construction Company came to Yuyuan Road, and after determining the route and wind direction, the plane prevention and control operation officially began.
Water cannon trucks
First up is the high-range wind turbine (commonly known as the "cannon truck"), which blows off the balls that are about to fall off. Then, the dust suppression truck (commonly known as the "water cannon truck") adjusts the angle to spray water mist on the fruit ball and lower the fruit hairs to the ground. Finally, trucks and landscaping workers collect and clean up the fruit balls that fall from the sidewalk. In order to alleviate traffic pressure and minimise the impact on people's lives, the blowing and flushing work is basically carried out from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day.

This year, Changning Green Construction mainly carried out physical blowing operations on more than 10 roads such as Xinhua Road, Panyu Road, Huashan Road, Hunan Road, Yuyuan Road, Huayang Road, Wuyi Road, Xianxia Road, Honggu Road and Tai'an Road. In addition to physical blowing, the main means of preventing and controlling the "scattering" of plane tree fruit hair is early pruning in winter. The production of fruit balls can be well reduced by pruning. With the "open heart" pruning technique, about 90% of the balls can be removed. In recent years, the promotion of mechanized operations, Changning has used climbing vehicles to prune the top fruit bulbs of large and super-large plane trees, which can achieve precise pruning prevention and control.
In fact, as one of the world's four major street trees, plane trees have the advantages of strong stress resistance, pruning resistance, and easy maintenance, and can adapt to the poor soil of the city, with good shading effect in summer and good light transmission effect in winter. In addition, the fruit hair fluttering is mostly produced in large plane trees, these trees have witnessed the development and change of the city, compared with the "small temper" of "fruit hair flying", its social, humanistic and ecological value is more worthy of our attention.
