Beijing, April 14, 2024 – The 2024 Lynk & Co Peak Driver Simulator e-Race opener was successfully concluded at Tsinghua University. After two days of fierce competition, Sun Shuai and Cui Zijian broke through the encirclement with their outstanding performances and successfully advanced to the finals.
Racing and e-sports collide, and the Peak Driver Series creates a new choice for "chasing dreams".
Compared with the high threshold of traditional motorsports, the racing simulation e-sports project has the advantages of high safety factor, wide choice, staying at home, and strong adaptability, which greatly reduces the threshold of motorsports, and has become a new stage for the majority of e-sports enthusiasts and racing enthusiasts to participate in motorsports, and has been successfully shortlisted for the official project of the Olympic E-sports Week.
The 2024 Lynk & Co Peak Driver Series has been further extended, with a strong entry into double first-class universities, a new "racing simulation e-sports" project, and the first stop at Tsinghua University, which is expected to compete in 10 universities including Harbin Institute of Technology, Chongqing University, Zhejiang University, and Hunan University throughout the year. The Lynk & Co models and official tracks equipped in the Peak Driver Series have been simulated in the e-sports event, and this e-competition uses the Raceroom professional racing simulator, and the contestants drive the highly restored 03TCR car to brush the lap. A total of 20 winners are expected to be selected through the annual esports event, and they will advance to the finals to compete, 1-3 will receive competition license training and esports athlete certificate/referee training, and 4-7 will receive referee training. The event attracted nearly 100 people to sign up for the event, which had a great influence on the campus, and after a two-day qualifying competition, the two winners of Sun Shuai and Cui Zijian were successfully determined.
With a more fashionable and interesting way to play cars, it provides an excellent opportunity for college students to feel the charm of automobile sports, experience the passion of racing, and realize their dreams on the track. The event received a warm response among the young students, attracting enthusiasts of motor sports culture to actively sign up and participate, and the atmosphere was hot.
Simulated racing e-sports has entered colleges and universities, and students have realized their racing dreams
Faced with the dual challenges of knowledge and speed, the guests and students present were full of enthusiasm. World champion Ma Qinghua competed with college players, and Zhu Dawei, a professional driver of Jiekai Lynk & Co Racing Team, as a senior of Tsinghua University, taught a number of special skills for racing drivers on the spot. Chinese table tennis player Zhou Yu also made a surprise appearance and participated in the interactive session with Ma Qinghua. The sincere sharing of the three guests once again aroused the atmosphere of the scene, and the students present were enthusiastic and actively participated in the interaction, raising issues that most people care about, such as motorsports, talent and passion, and key technologies.
In this session, Ma Qinghua expressed his understanding of talent, he believes that love is the best talent, and it is his love for racing that has made him talented, and this love has helped him overcome obstacles in the world arena and achieve China's glory.
David Chu believes that talent can determine the height of an athlete, and the width of career is unlimited, the key is to continue to break through and surpass yourself. In addition, he gave a positive evaluation of the establishment of e-sports, believing that the use of simulators as the initiation of motorsport can help lower the threshold for racing participation, and can also help professional drivers practice their feel and maintain their competitive condition.
Zhou Yu started from his own experience as a table tennis player, and he mentioned that racing and table tennis are different, but their requirements for athletes are similar. In a racing simulator, the corners ahead are unpredictable but traceable, like the angle and speed of a ping pong ball in front of you, both of which are fleeting and require full attention to give the best shot. Table tennis is common in college, racing is not, and bringing it to college campuses is a first, and Lynk & Co should be applauded.
In addition to the simulator experience, a number of challenges were set up, including muscular endurance training, reaction test, driving strength training, etc. The riders tested their skills in these events and experienced the daily life of a professional driver. Among them, the lap challenge was restored to the Ningbo International Circuit 1:1, and the runners controlled the Lynk & Co 03 TCR car to complete the lap challenge within 15 minutes through the Raceroom simulator, and took the best lap result as the final result. After fierce competition, Sun Shuai and Cui Zijian won with excellent performance and advanced to the finals.
With the launch of the new project "Racing Simulation E-sports" and the addition of the junior group of karting events, the Lynk & Co Peak Driver Series has become the first Chinese sports IP covering all ages in China. With a richer selection of events, more open participation rules, and more diverse promotion methods, Lynk & Co allows motorsports enthusiasts of all ages to experience the fun and professionalism of motorsports.
The holding of the Lynk & Co Peak Driver Racing Simulation Electric Competition not only gives college students the opportunity to experience the speed and passion of racing, but also taps potential new stars and injects new vitality into the development of domestic motorsports. In addition to the activities of more than 10 universities, the Lynk & Co Peak Driver Racing Simulation E-Competition will also recruit racing talents from the whole society at the three e-sports event centers in Shanghai, Nanchang and Hangzhou, further expanding the scope of participation in the event, providing opportunities for more people who love motorsports to show their talents, and cultivating more reserve forces that can participate in official events.
From the "Peak Driver Series", to CEC, CHC, and then to the world's top TCR events, in terms of physical racing, Lynk & Co has created a complete promotion path from beginner to professional drivers; Lynk & Co provides a platform for all motorsports enthusiasts with dreams to continuously improve and help them transform from ordinary motorsports enthusiasts to professional players and even professional drivers.
Racing technology empowers mass production, and Lynk & Co continues to lead the trend of motor sports culture
As a pioneer of China's motor sports culture, Lynk & Co Motor Sports has been committed to promoting the development of China's motor sports and has invested a lot of energy. Since 2019, Lynk & Co has participated in the world's top races, not only allowing Chinese drivers to drive Chinese cars to the top podium in the international arena, but also winning 6 world championship titles in the five years of participating in the world's highest level touring car events, refreshing the historical performance of Chinese motor sports on the international stage.
Based on the technical precipitation of the track, Lynk & Co has made racing-grade tuning and technology benefit civilian models, creating a high-performance car Lynk & Co 03++ with a maximum horsepower of 350Ps and a peak torque of 450N·m. The arrival of Lynk & Co 03++ is the best example of the track empowering civilian use, which fills the gap of Chinese auto brands in the world's mass production of high-performance cars, and shows the world the strong strength of Chinese manufacturing. The Lynk & Co 03++ was also exhibited at Tsinghua University, a Chinese high-performance car "ceiling" with its personalized appearance and powerful performance, which brought a shocking impact to Tsinghua students.
This year is the sixth year of Lynk & Co's participation in TCR, and on April 20-21, the first TCR match will be launched.
