Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping has attached great importance to promoting national reading and building a scholarly society, and has made a series of important expositions and instructions.
Promoting reading for all people and building a scholarly society is a major event related to the quality of the people, the comprehensive national strength, and the future of the nation. In 2024, the Wudu District Party Committee and the District Government will promote the construction of "Scholarly Wudu" as a practical matter of people's livelihood, which is an important measure to implement the deployment of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China "Deepening the National Reading Activity" and the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's series of speeches on strengthening reading and learning. It is of great significance to improve the happiness index and lay a solid cultural foundation for Wudu to basically realize modernization.
In order to further promote the construction of "Scholarly Wudu", let the circulation of knowledge flow, let the sleeping books rejuvenate, and form a strong atmosphere of "reading more and reading good books" in the whole society and a vivid situation of innovation and creativity, we are now issuing a book donation initiative to the general public and friends.
1. The purpose of donating books
The donated books will be distributed to public reading places such as rural bookstores and urban bookstores to help build a "scholarly Wudu".
2. Instructions for donating books
1. The donation activity is based on the principle of voluntary donation, and the number of copies is not limited (it is advisable to donate less than 5 copies of the same literature).
2. The donated books must comply with the "Regulations on the Administration of Publications" and the "Copyright Law of the People's Republic of China" and other laws and regulations.
3. The donated books are free of damage or missing pages, and the content is healthy and positive.
4. The published period of donated books should be published after 2015 (including books published in 2015).
5. Types of books to be donated: Marxism, Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, philosophy, social sciences, natural sciences, comprehensive books, nature, science fiction, fairy tales, literature and other extracurricular books suitable for students to read, economic, cultural, scientific and technological, legal, social management and medical care and other books that are conducive to the masses to increase their knowledge, broaden their horizons and improve their own quality (excluding teaching aids, periodicals and magazines).
3. Time for book donation
Centralized donations will be made from March 30 to April 30, 2024, and then for a long time.
4. Donation location and contact person
1. Each township (street) is responsible for the donation of books within the jurisdiction of the township (street), and classifies and sorts, registers, and uniformly distributes it to each rural bookstore within its jurisdiction.
2. All departments directly under the district are responsible for the book donation work of their own units and systems, and classify and register them (the District Health Bureau and the Education Bureau should actively mobilize the cadres and employees of the industry system to do a good job in book donation activities, and guide the townships, health centers, community service centers, and high schools, primary and secondary schools to carry out donation work), and uniformly distribute them to the District New Era Civilization Practice Center and Wudu District Volunteer Service Federation (1st floor, Zhongloutan Wenguang Building).
3. The District New Era Civilization Practice Center and the Wudu District Volunteer Service Federation are responsible for the donation of books at the social level, and receive donated books from each donation point on Wednesdays and Fridays every week.
