Currently the latest PS5 Pro spec summary, the model is widely expected to be released this year

It is rumored that Sony plans to release an upgraded version of the PS5 at the end of this year, which is not new news, and like the PS4 Pro, the outside world agrees that the model will be tentatively named PS5 Pro.

The PS5 Pro has a more powerful GPU and a slightly faster CPU mode, with a focus on improved ray tracing. Developers are required to ensure that the game is compatible with PS5 Pro, especially the ray tracing feature. Here's the latest news:

The PS5 Pro's GPU rendering is expected to be around 45% faster than the standard PS5, using a larger GPU and faster system memory. The PS5 Pro will use a more powerful ray tracing architecture that is three times faster than the regular PS5. If a game is able to run at 1080p resolution and 60 frames per second on a standard PS5, it may reach higher resolutions (e.g., 4K) and higher frame rates (e.g., 75 frames per second or higher) on a PS5 Pro, with more realistic lighting and shadows.

Sony is said to encourage developers to make more use of graphics features such as ray tracing on the PS5 Pro, and to offer the "Trinity Enhanced" label for games that offer significant enhancements. Developers can now order test kits to ensure that games submitted for certification in August are compatible with PS5 Pro. Developers may optimize the game for PS5 Pro, using the "Trinity Enhanced" tag to indicate that the game has better performance and image quality on the new console.

Although the PS5 Pro has the same CPU as the standard PS5, it has a higher clock mode at 3.85GHz, which is about 10% higher than the regular PS5. The PS5 Pro's system memory is 28% faster, from 448GB/s to 576GB/s. Developers will be able to access an additional 1.2GB of system memory, bringing the total memory up from 12.5GB to 13.7GB. For example, in a racing game, higher CPU frequencies and memory speeds could mean smoother physics simulations and more detailed environmental details, such as viewer animations and vehicle damage effects.

About new technologies and features: The PS5 Pro will support Sony's new PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), a technology similar to Nvidia's DLSS or AMD's FSR for improved frame rates and image quality. The PS5 Pro has a built-in "Machine Learning Custom Architecture" that supports 300TOPS of 8-bit computing to support PSSR. If you're playing an open-world game, PSSR technology can upscale 1080p to 4K resolution in real-time while maintaining or increasing the frame rate, providing players with a sharper, smoother visual experience.

The PS5 Pro is expected to be launched during this year's Christmas holidays, or ahead of schedule. But gamers are more concerned with Sony first-party games or new Sony handhelds than a Pro console.
