On April 12, the 23 MW photovoltaic power generation project in Lefical, Colombia, undertaken by PowerChina, was completed. Colombian President Gustavo Petro and Colombian Petroleum President Ricardo Roa attended the completion ceremony.
President Petro said that reducing the use of oil and gas energy and achieving "carbon peak and carbon neutrality" as soon as possible is an important strategic development goal of the Colombian government. The success of the Lefical PV project is a milestone and marks the great potential of renewable energy generation in Colombia. As the world's top new energy power contractor, we are grateful to PowerChina for bringing China's advanced technology and high-quality equipment to Colombia, actively participating in the construction of Colombia's energy transition, and "co-building, sharing and win-win" with the Colombian people.
Ricardo said the Refical PV project is the first refinery site PV project in Latin America. Congratulations to the executive teams of PowerChina and Colombian Petroleum for their achievements, and thank the builders for their hard work.
The total installed capacity of the project is 23 MW, providing 34.29 GWh of clean energy per year to the Cartagena refinery. The project has created more than 400 jobs and made a positive contribution to the employment of residents in the surrounding communities. (PowerChina)
