On April 9, Kehua Digital Energy launched a new generation of S³-EStation 2.0 5MW/10MWh intelligent liquid-cooled energy storage system to the world. Partners, industry experts and media representatives from the industry were invited to attend and witness this important moment.

Full liquid cooling and heat dissipation, more than 15 years battery life

The 2.5MW energy storage converter and 5MWh liquid-cooled energy storage battery system in the new generation S³-EStation 2.0 5MW/10MWh intelligent liquid-cooled energy storage system are both designed with liquid cooling and heat dissipation. The 5MWh liquid-cooled energy storage battery system is a new upgrade based on the best-selling S³ 3.44MWh liquid-cooled energy storage battery system in 2022-2023, compared with the previous generation system, the auxiliary power consumption of the system is reduced by 20% on average, and the energy density is increased by 45.35%. This means that the battery attenuation rate of the liquid-cooled energy storage battery system is reduced by 10%~15%, and the life of the liquid-cooled energy storage battery system can reach more than 15 years.

The 2.5MW energy storage converter covers an area of only 1.4 square meters, with a maximum efficiency of 99.03%, and a single unit supports 110% overload operation at 40°C, compared with the traditional air-cooled converter solution, the life of the PCS power module is increased by 25%, and at the same time, the converter has a better temperature rise effect, and can operate without derating at an ambient temperature of 50°C.

The whole station is out of the wind, not afraid of the "heat island effect"

Because the energy storage equipment will generate a lot of heat during operation, the temperature of the station will rise, which will affect the normal operation of the equipment. In response to the heat island effect of the station, Kehua Digital Energy has launched an advanced top air outlet heat dissipation solution.

Through the unique structure of the ejector air design, the efficient heat export is realized, the ambient temperature of the whole station can be reduced by 8°C, and the power consumption of the liquid cooling unit can be reduced by 25%. This not only reduces operating costs, but also improves the overall efficiency of the energy storage system. At the same time, the top air outlet design can reduce the temperature of the PCS air inlet by 11.7°C, increase the service life of electrical equipment by 50%, ensure the stable operation of the equipment in a high-temperature environment, and further improve the reliability of the system.

The global network structure actively supports weak power grids

In response to the challenge of low inertia of the new power system, Kehua Digital Energy's new generation S³-EStation 2.0 5MW/10MWh smart liquid-cooled energy storage system has the functions of inertia, active/reactive power regulation and the ability to actively support the power grid. At present, it has taken the lead in passing the full network construction test, with excellent performance. With a system short-circuit capacity ratio (SCR) of less than 1.1, it is able to quickly restore stability in the event of a grid failure, significantly reducing the duration of power outages. At the same time, the system has MS-level power response and μS-level voltage construction capabilities, which can effectively stabilize power grid fluctuations, significantly improve power quality, and ensure the continuity and stability of power supply.

In addition to the above three technological innovations, the system has once again comprehensively improved the three performance advantages of active safety (Safe), intelligent and efficient (Smart) and simple (Simple), and has achieved the industry-leading level in safety, intelligence and integration.

The energy storage system not only needs to be highly safe, reliable, and easy to maintain, but also should be equipped with an intelligent operating system and cloud platform to achieve more efficient management and monitoring. The system adopts triple fire protection + three-level insulation monitoring + multi-point monitoring design, which greatly improves the safety and reliability of the system; integrates the cluster-level optimizer, configures the operation and maintenance management platform of the energy storage station, realizes the active balancing between clusters, increases the available power of the system by 5%, and can complete the whole station configuration of the 100MWh energy storage power station within 15 minutes; at the same time, it adopts a standard 20-foot cabinet, standard prefabrication, flexible layout, which can meet the needs of single unit, long-side splicing, short-side splicing, and "field" A variety of station layouts such as word splicing can perfectly meet the needs of richer station layouts.
