WATERGOLD is a visually poetic light installation that highlights the emergency of water scarcity on the planet.
By 2050, 2.3 billion people will be living in severe water scarcity. Over the next 35 years, the demand for drinking water will increase by 55%, leaving us in a humanitarian emergency. There is no economy without water, but more importantly, there is no dignity, there is no life.
In the time we imagine, this human right to finite resources will lead to serious socio-economic conflicts around the world over the search, protection, production and distribution of water resources. Only effective and responsible management of water resources can save us from the imminent war, the water war, the gold of the future.
WATERGOLD is an art installation that invites us to think about appropriate and responsible ways to use water. The gathering of light showcases the unique and important elements of life – the gold of the future, the fragility of water.
Warm, soft, dynamic lighting twirls and dances to the beautiful soundscape through a set of overflowing glass. Flashes, reflections, and flashes in continuous motion fill the space, creating a golden atmosphere of contemplative beauty.
