"What I need for my paintings is a sense of simplicity, but richness.

My personal creation is like this: stones, meadows, ploughing oxen, horse-drawn carriages, these elements constitute the beautiful scenery of the countryside, and the girls in the countryside are more beautiful, not only in appearance, but more importantly, in the soul.

Modern industrial civilization has brought us a lot of benefits, but I am still obsessed with the natural fertile soil in the countryside, which is also a refutation of industrial civilization on another level.

Wu Jinghan was born in Beijing in 1964. He graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1988. From 2002 to 2006, he lived in France and now lives in Beijing.
