ON APRIL 13, THE BOOK LAUNCH OF "FLOATING DREAMS ARE JOY" WAS HELD AT THE DT51 RENDEZ-VOUS BOOKSTORE. The guests present included Gu Jianping, deputy editor-in-chief of "Selected Novels" magazine, Zhang Yiwen, deputy editor-in-chief of "Beijing Literature", Xingchao, deputy editor-in-chief of "Literature and Art Daily", and Wang Yi, the author.
Wang Yi is a member of the National 38 Red Banner Bearer, a member of the Chinese Writers Association, a contracted writer of the Jiangsu Writers Association, and a distinguished writer of the Taizhou Writers Association. He is the author of the novels "Winter Fireworks" and "Summer Swing", the short story collection "It's Worth the Trip to See You", and the poetry collection "Selected Poems of Wang Yi", among which "Winter Fireworks" was selected for the 8th Shanghai Good Children's Book Award and "Summer Swing" was selected as a key work support project of the China Writers Association. He won the 3rd China Young Poet Award, the 10th Jinling Literature Award, and was selected as a new power young writer of the "Literary Soviet Army" of the Jiangsu Writers Association in 2023. Wang Yi used one of her fingers to dance freely on the keyboard. The female characters she created are either free to live happily, or struggle to survive in illness, but in the end, they are all treated well by life, which is the author's expectation for the world and the kindness of the heart.
"The Dream of Floating Life is Joy" includes 20 short stories created by the author in the past two years, some of which reflect on the true meaning of love such as "Heavy Rain in the Morning" and "Opportunity", some explore the subtlety of people's hearts such as "Floating Dream is Qinghuan", some think about the truth of family love and warm life, such as "Seven Mile Lane" and "Old Rattan Chair", and some explore the way out of life such as "Healing Against the Current" and "Accompanying Doctor" Wang Yi continued his delicate writing in the past, talked about the corners and corners of daily life with gentle brushstrokes, observed the joys, sorrows and sorrows of ordinary people with a calm eye, and recorded his thoughts on the world with just the right amount of warmth.
At the book launch, readers watched the video of Wang Yi's life and witnessed her difficulty typing, but the wheelchair could trap her body but not her free soul. As Gu Jianping commented, Wang Yi's writing is "a kind of creative writing with the help of imagination, sensibility, and aesthetic power", and her novels "have frank sincerity and healthy love". Ms. Zhang Yiwen shared the rich selection of Wang Yi's novels, the appropriate expression of life and the sense of proportion, and she shared her thoughts on light and heavy, health and disability, happiness and misfortune with readers. Teacher Xingchao shared the urban theme, humorous and dynamic language of Wang Yi's novel, and the uniqueness of the theme expressed in the novel. The three guests let readers better understand the author and himself, and also perceive the wonder of the new book more clearly.
