From April 13th to 14th, the 2024 "China Sports Lottery Cup" Micang Mountain Grand Canyon Sichuan-Chongqing Orienteering Race was held in Wangcang County, and 500 colleges and universities from Sichuan and Chongqing and orienteering enthusiasts participated in the competition.
The event was hosted by the Sichuan Provincial Sports Bureau, and undertaken by the Winter Sports Management Center of Sichuan Sports Vocational College, Chongqing Winter Sports Management Center, Guangyuan Sports Bureau, and Wangcang County People's Government. The race is divided into two stages, namely the sprint race in the Red Army City of China and the middle distance race in the Yanjing River Grand Canyon.
Among them, the Red Army City Sprint Competition consists of 7 groups: elite men's group, elite women's group, youth men's group, youth women's group, parent-child group, open group, and experience group, with more than 500 people participating in the competition. The start and finish points of the race are located in the square outside the main gate of the Red Army City of China, with a total length of about 3 kilometers, the distance of the track is 1.9 kilometers to 2.7 kilometers, and the number of points is 14 to 25 respectively.
The Yanjing River Grand Canyon Middle Distance Competition consists of 6 groups: elite men's group, elite women's group, junior men's group, junior women's group, open group, and parent-child group, with more than 100 athletes participating. The starting and ending points are located in Longshenba, the total length of the line is about 5 kilometers, the track distance is 3.4 kilometers to 4.9 kilometers, and the number of points is 19 to 24, the line is set up according to the unique topography of the Yanjing River Grand Canyon Forest Park, and runs through the new tourist road, forest and ditch, which is a unique track experience, and also allows the contestants to better feel the natural scenery and cultural customs of the Grand Canyon.
"Wangcang is a national key ecological function area, Sichuan-Shaanxi Revolutionary Base Area, and five cultural and tourism business cards, such as Red City, Green Valley, Tea Town, Ancient Road, and Dinosaurs, complement each other. According to the relevant person in charge of Wangcang County, in recent years, Wangcang County has vigorously promoted the deep integration of the sports industry and leisure tourism, made full use of the rich human and natural resources, and hosted many major national and provincial events, and the sports industry has been vigorously developed.
