In order to help the construction of "Healthy China, Charming Lizhou", enhance the awareness of schistosomiasis prevention among residents in the blood epidemic prevention area, form safe and civilized health behaviors and production and living habits, promote the process of schistosomiasis elimination in Lixian County, and display the achievements and experience of schistosomiasis prevention and control in Lixian County, the Liyang Schistosomiasis Prevention and Control Station, under the guidance of the Blood Prevention Office of the County Health Bureau, focused on "inheriting the spirit of blood prevention and accelerating the elimination process" from April 8 to 14 Theme, take multiple measures at the same time, concentrate efforts, actively carry out the 2024 schistosomiasis prevention and control publicity week activities, vigorously carry forward the spirit of blood prevention in the new era of "collective wisdom, scientific prevention and control, dedication, and vow to send the plague god", and create a good atmosphere for the whole society to pay attention to blood prevention work.
The activities were carried out through media publicity, mobile publicity, fixed-point publicity, banner publicity, blood prevention training, special lectures, free consultation, health examination, etc. On April 8, the publicity and free clinic activities of blood prevention and health education were carried out in Lanjiang Park, Lixian County. At the event site, the staff preached the knowledge of schistosomiasis prevention and control to the residents by setting up publicity display boards, distributing publicity materials, displaying graphic display boards, and carrying out health consulting services, so as to improve everyone's schistosomiasis prevention knowledge.
From April 9th to 12th, the construction project department of Mengxi Town Middle School, Weinan Town Health Center, Linan Town Central Health Center, and Lishui Jiaojiao Second Harbor Lishui Lixian Section Construction Project Department respectively carried out schistosomiasis prevention and control knowledge training lectures for teachers and students, public health professionals, rural doctors, and engineering water-related workers, distributed schistosomiasis prevention and control knowledge publicity color pages, anti-lobbium sprays, and anti-larvae creams, and conducted blood collection and examination for susceptible personnel who wading through water.
From April 13th to 14th, we went deep into Beiminhu Village, Weinan Town, and Songluhu Village, Mengxi Town, to organize a professional team to detect and eliminate snails in susceptible environments, and organized professionals to carry out health education in the form of "going to the village and entering the household" and mobile propaganda vehicles along the Weishui embankment.
The direct cause of schistosomiasis infection is contact with water bodies containing schistosomiasis cercariae (infected water), which has a serious danger to the health of residents in epidemic areas after infection. At present, the simultaneous work of snail detection is progressing in an orderly manner. Next, the Liyang Blood Prevention Station will further intensify the work of snail detection and eradication, continue to implement various comprehensive prevention and control measures such as snail disease monitoring and schistosomiasis investigation and treatment publicity and education for mobile personnel, and continuously improve the schistosomiasis prevention and control skills of professional and technical personnel, so as to build a solid line of defense for the blood prevention and health of the people in the blood epidemic prevention area of Lixian County.
