In the face of such a high price, Sato of the Takerose brand achieved his "God of War Dream" with the modified Nissan Stagea station wagon.
The original Nissan Stagea station wagon was actually a product of the same platform as the R34 Skyline, while the Sato model is a special edition 260RS high-performance model produced by Autech Japan, and is the only model with a RB26DETT engine other than the Skyline series, but the exterior design is significantly different from the GT-R.
Takerose is a versatile tuning label that not only focuses on improving performance, but has also been known for its custom aerodynamic exterior kits with the aim of creating a unique tuning style. The 260RS is a family wagon that can meet the demands of race tracks.
Visually, the Takerose is typical of the exaggerated custom package, boasting wide fenders that are 60 mm wider on one side of the front and 80 mm on each side of the rear. Mr. Sato said that this is the fourth Type ZERO widebody kit launched for Stagea, and this time it was developed to accommodate the 295 size high-grip tires.
To accommodate the wide-body kit, the fuel tank cap was retrofitted with the addition of movable triangular parts. It's a small creative modification from the Takerose mechanics that eliminates the height difference with the fenders and doesn't get in the way of refueling.
On the road, the RAYS Volk Racing ZE40 (12J x 18) forged wheels have been upgraded, the anodized blue paint finish is also quite textured, and the tires are Potenza RE-71R (295/35R18). The rear suspension of the Stagea is the same as that of the Skyline sedan, but it has been adjusted accordingly so as not to destroy the cargo space of the original car.
The interior retains the street style, without overly hardcore upgrades or a large number of empty air for lightweight treatment, a quick-release steering wheel, a pair of Recaro barrel chairs are indispensable, and the vortex control instrument from the HKS EVC can also be seen on the center console.
As the wheelbase widens, so does the need for upgrades between the front and rear towers, and the roof bar is an indispensable component that helps to increase rigidity, which is especially important for through-frame frames.
The RB26DETT in the engine compartment is based on the N1 block, with the displacement enlarged by HKS's 2.8-liter Step 1 package, and the Tomei Powered high cam (IN&EX 260 degrees) upgraded on the valve chamber cover. This method increases the stable power output at high revs while increasing torque performance at low and medium speeds.
The turbo is paired with a standard RB26DETT original turbo and an HKS GT2530 modified turbo, controlled by D-JETRO using the F-CON V Pro, with the fuel injectors upgraded to 1000cc, producing 570ps at 1.6kg of boost pressure.
In the drivetrain, the RB26DETT engine is mated to the same 5-speed gearbox as the BCNR33, but now the output has exceeded 500ps, which is very close to the limit of the gearbox's tolerance, so you need to be careful when driving.
Sato bought the 260RS more than a decade ago, having been involved in two crashes. One of them was recovered from a state on the verge of obsolescence, and the full spot welding reinforcement of the nacelle was used as a trace of accident repair.
If there is a big accident, do not give up but continue to modify and upgrade, which may be the charm from the "God of War". Because the biggest attraction of the Stagea 260RS is that it can use all kinds of original and modified parts of the GT-R R34, and it offers more luggage space while having the same performance as the God of War.
Sato thinks that if he wants to buy the Stagea and wants to upgrade it in the future, he will recommend the Stagea RS FOUR all-wheel drive model with a RB25DET engine. Not only is the base model less expensive than the 260RS, but the upgrade scheme is mature, and the key is that it can also achieve the same performance as this 260RS.
The upgraded Stagea 260RS has a variety of personalities, and is usually a practical station wagon for the family, but once you press the accelerator pedal, it can show the "Godzilla"-like combat power, which is simply a wolf in sheep's clothing.
