Rice, 6-3 (1.91m), from South Carolina who plays high school in the Atlanta, Georgia area, is Indiana's first offseason transfer student and Indiana's second new signing, with Bryson Tucker, a five-star winger for the Class of 2024, who now has five scholarship spots to fill.

Although Rice is a high school graduate in the class of 2021, he didn't play his first college game until the 2023-24 season, he opted for the red jersey in 2021-22, and then he should have three more years to qualify because he missed the entire 2022-23 season while Hodgkin was recovering from lymphoma.
