The Hong Kong Police Force was established in 1844 and has a history of 180 years. Hong Kong has been hailed as one of the safest cities in the world for many years, and the contribution of the Hong Kong Police Force is indispensable. "Police officers of different generations have also shouldered the great responsibility of protecting the safety of people's lives and property, upholding law and order, and ensuring national security. Commissioner of Police, Siu Chak-yee, said that as one of the major law enforcement agencies of the HKSAR Government, the Force will continue to uphold the national security line. He hoped that the Force would continue to unite as one, fulfill its responsibilities and pursue excellence, and practice "Protecting Our City and Crossing 180" under the new atmosphere of "governance and prosperity".

To commemorate the important milestone of the Force's 180th anniversary, the Hong Kong Police Force also held a time capsule sealing ceremony on the same day, in which the Force's management sealed items with commemorative value and moved them to the Police Headquarters for preservation until the 200th anniversary (i.e. 20 years later), hoping to witness the inheritance of the Force's professionalism with the public.

Mr. Cheung, a Hong Kong citizen, took his wife and children to participate in the open day, and his eldest daughter wore the same uniform as the Force. Mr. Cheung said with a smile: "My daughter has always thought that the Hong Kong police are so stylish, so we bought her a uniform. In our lives, we all feel very safe when we see the police officers around. ”

The Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Mr Cheng Yanxiong, pointed out that the Hong Kong Police Force's combination of the Police College Open Day and the National Security Education Day fully reflects the Force's deep understanding of the Force's major mission of safeguarding national security and Hong Kong's stability, which is an important manifestation of the Force's judgment, comprehension and execution ability to adapt to the mission in the new stage. "I hope that every citizen participating in the event will enhance the relationship between the police and the people, enhance the awareness of the rule of law, increase the feelings of the family and the country through mutual experience and mutual understanding, further understand the truth of national security and good family, integrate the concept of national security into their hearts and put it into action, and jointly be the guardian of national security, the defender of Hong Kong's stability, and the promoter of social development."
