Preface
Fu Lianhuan has four children, namely Wei Lian, Wei Qing, Wei Guang, and Wei Kang.
After Fu Weiguang's wife became pregnant, when she was about to give birth, the couple wanted to ask their father Fu Lianhuan to name the child.
After thinking for a while, Fu Lianhuan gave the answer: "Yongdong".
Why is it called that? Fu Weiguang didn't understand. After his father explained, Fu Weiguang understood and felt very good.
Fu Weiguang has always remembered his father's words: "We will come back"
Before the Long March, Fu Lianhuan was the director of the Central Red Hospital, mainly responsible for the medical care of Chairman Mao and the Red Army.
Since Fu Lianhuan suffered from severe lung disease and coughed up blood, it was estimated that his body was too weak to bear the pain of the long journey.
As a result, the organization wanted Fu Lianhuan to stay in Jiangxi. But Fu Lianhuan thought that Chairman Mao was seriously ill, and he needed careful care from doctors on the road, and the leaders of the Central Committee and the Red Army soldiers could not do without doctors.
Originally, there were very few doctors in the revolutionary ranks. If he doesn't go, how can he let go of that worrying heart.
So, at Fu Lianhuan's repeated requests, he finally got the approval of the Party Central Committee.
When the Long March began in 1934, Fu Weiguang was only 10 years old, but he was already sensible. On the night when his father went out with the army, Fu Weiguang and his brother-in-law Chen Binghui saw off their father together.
Fu Weiguang said: "Send Dad to war!"
When the words fell, everyone present laughed. Fu Lianhuan humorously said that his father can only give injections and has not yet learned to fight. Well, let's learn to fight again!
Fu Weiguang and his brother-in-law sent their father a mile away, and when they separated, Fu Lianhuan said to them, we will come back, we must fight to the end, and with Chairman Mao, we will definitely win!
This sentence has always been remembered in Fu Weiguang's heart. Many years later, recalling the scene at that time, Fu Weiguang will still be moved by his father's optimism and belief in the victory of the revolution.
As soon as the main forces of the Red Army left, the reactionaries of the Kuomintang were restored.
In the suppression of the reactionaries, Fu Weilian and her husband Chen Binghui died in the war. couldn't stay in the local area anymore, Fu Weiguang followed his mother, second sister and younger brother to the southern part of Jiangnan.
Those days of hiding, in Fu Weiguang's words, were simply living a life that was inferior to pigs and dogs.
It wasn't until after the Xi'an Incident that Fu Weiguang and his family returned to their hometown. However, the pressure exerted by the reactionaries on them still made their lives very difficult.
Although he has not heard from his father for two years, Fu Weiguang always believes in his heart that his father will come back.
He always remembered what his father said solemnly to him when he left.
In the autumn of 1937, Fu Weiguang finally received his father's first letter after the Long March. The letter said that everything was fine, and Fu Lianhuan's body was much stronger.
Fu Weiguang and his family were excited.
Fu Lianhuan also said that Chairman Mao knew about his family's situation in Yan'an, was very concerned, and instructed the organization to try to send some money back every year to help the Fu family solve the difficulties in life.
For this, Fu Weiguang and his family are grateful. As a result, Fu Weiguang and his siblings can go to school again.
Later, when his mother urged their siblings to study, she asked Fu Weiguang a few questions, such as "Do you know where your father is?", "Who sent you money to go to school and eat?", "What do you do when you grow up?" and so on.
In this regard, Fu Weiguang answered them one by one.
Fu Weiguang said that when he grew up, like his father, he studied medicine and became a doctor in the Red Army.
Later, Fu Weiguang really embarked on the road of studying medicine. On the eve of liberation, Fu Weiguang worked as a doctor in Nanchang Hospital, and he fulfilled the goal he set when he was young.
After the liberation of Beiping, when Chen Geng went south to liberate Nanchang, he found Fu Weiguang and took him to Beijing to meet his father Fu Lianhuan.
Fu Lianhuan looked at his son, who had been separated for more than ten years, and was quite happy. In order to reunite father and son, the organization left Fu Weiguang in Beijing as a doctor.
Fu Weiguang is very competitive, works hard in the hospital, and performs very well. Therefore, later the leaders of their hospital decided to let Fu Weiguang go to the Soviet Union to study.
After this matter reached Fu Lianyan's ears, he disagreed.
Fu Lianhuan said that he was the leader of the Ministry of Health, and his son went to the Soviet Union for further study, and whether his son wanted it or not, the impact on the masses would not be good.
In this way, Fu Weiguang did not become the Soviet Union. Not only that, Fu Lianhuan also let his son leave the Beijing hospital, which is under the direct jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health, and let him go to Shanghai to work.
Fu Lianhuan and his son said that a person must strive for self-improvement and rely on his own ability to write his own history. Relying on parents is dishonorable and unreliable.
These words of his father left a deep memory for Fu Weiguang.
Fu Lianhuan asked his grandchildren to be called "Yongdong"
Fu Weiguang remembers that he and his father met for the first time after many years, and his father told him to give him a northeastern edition of the "Mao Zedong" anthology.
Fu Lianhuan warned him that he had been groping for half his life before he found the truth from Chairman Mao's book. He wants his son to study hard, study hard, and learn for a lifetime.
Then, Fu Lianhuan said that he hoped that his son would keep in mind that he could not think that his father would be able to specialize if his father became a minister. To be a child of a revolutionary family, we have greater responsibilities and higher demands, and we must play an exemplary role among the masses everywhere.
Fu Weiguang understands that his father's feelings for Chairman Mao are very respectful and sincere.
Fu Weiguang and his wife are about to have a child. He asked his father for help in choosing a name. Fu Lianhuan said directly, let's call it "Yongdong".
Fu Weiguang was a little incomprehensible, saying that this is a boy's name, what if he gives birth to a girl?
Fu Lianhuan explained that both boys and girls must have this name. Because this is not an ordinary name, but a hope and a request for the third generation of the revolution.
Fu Lianhuan said that his generation followed Chairman Mao to make revolutions all his life. Fu Weiguang's generation also followed Chairman Mao to make revolutions all his life. He hoped that the third, fourth, fifth, and future generations would follow Chairman Mao in making a revolution.
"Yongdong" means just that.
Fu Weiguang later said that when his father talked about some issues with them, he always said it in a consultative tone. But for the naming of the child, this time, the father did not have any room for negotiation.
The revolution will be carried out until the complete victory of the toiling people of the world. This is Fu Lianhuan's ideal goal, which is why he personally named his grandchildren.
Usually, Fu Weiguang's work is very busy, and he rarely reunites with his family. But Fu Lianhuan always had to arrange time for their brothers and sisters to get together, and every time he spoke, Fu Lianhuan would focus on how Chairman Mao led them to make a revolution.
Fu Weiguang said that if the revolutionary family has a family motto, then his family's family motto is to listen to his father tell the story of Chairman Mao!
