Yu Chengdong said at the meeting that the Huawei visual intelligent driving carried by the Zhijie S7 has surpassed Tesla, the "visual originator" in the field of autonomous driving, in the performance of the real car test. This declaration is not only a confidence in Huawei's technology, but also a challenge and encouragement to the entire industry.
Huawei ADS Basic Edition, a new visual intelligent driving system, is equipped with 3 millimeter-wave radars, 10 high-definition camera groups, and 12 ultrasonic radars, realizing all-round perception of the environment without relying on lidar. Whether it is intelligent driving on and off ramps, or facing complex scenarios such as road construction and cone and barrel diversion, Huawei ADS Basic Edition can easily cope with it, demonstrating its powerful ability to change lanes and avoid obstacles.
In the comparative test with Tesla's EAP, Huawei's visual intelligent driving coverage rate reached an astonishing 99.5%, the ramp pass rate was as high as 96%, and there were 0 downgrades. In comparison, Tesla equipped with EAP has a coverage rate of only 79%, a ramp pass rate of 68.75%, and 14 downgrades. This comparison undoubtedly proves the superiority of Huawei's visual intelligent driving technology.
In terms of intelligent parking, Huawei's visual intelligent driving has also shown strong strength, surpassing Tesla in all aspects. Tesla's EAP is powerless in the face of unusual shapes, oblique columns, and custom parking spaces, while Huawei's visual intelligent driving can easily deal with it.
Tesla's autonomous driving products are divided into three categories: BAP, EAP and FSD, of which EAP is an enhanced assisted driving option, which requires an additional cost. At the same time, we have also seen another attempt by domestic automakers in the field of intelligent driving - the iCAR 03 jointly launched by DJI Automotive and Chery. This model adopts a 7V pure vision sensor scheme, and the whole car does not have a millimeter-wave radar or ultrasonic radar, and it is the first car in China to rely on pure visual perception hardware to achieve high-end assisted driving functions.
In reality, domestic giants, including DJI and Huawei, have long been eager to bring intelligent driving into a lower price range. In this regard, many people in the industry sighed, "LiDAR is finished".
