The news also pointed out that the new system introduces artificial intelligence analysis and will not draw lines on the screen during VAR video assistant referee review. Instead, the key positions on the player's body, such as the head, balls, upper arms, knees, etc., are reproduced and offside is determined. This technology, which has been used in the World Cup and Champions League, has reduced the time spent by VAR video assistant referees to determine offside. However, the technology still does not work independently, although it can judge offside or not more quickly, but the relevant information still needs to be handed over to the VAR video assistant referee first, to determine whether there is a need to overturn the decision before raising it to the referee, as far as possible to avoid disrupting the rhythm of the game in the field.
