Preface
Since April 4, Yellen embarked on her visit to China, and the diplomatic smoke between the United States and Russia has not stopped, according to media reports, Yellen's visit clearly issued a warning, and its purpose is to target China's so-called "aid to Russia" issue.
Before US Treasury Secretary Yellen left, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov arrived in China, and the Chinese side welcomed Lavrov's visit.
US Deputy Secretary of State Campbell even made inappropriate remarks on Sino-Russian relations in disregard of the interests of the White House when talking about the Taiwan issue.
U.S. Secretary of State Janet Yellen visited China
On April 8, U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said that Chinese companies should not provide any support to Russia, and not only did she accuse Chinese companies of participating in Russian military procurements.
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning warned the US not to maliciously speculate on China-Russia relations.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov visited China
After Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov arrived in China on 8 April, the Chinese side expressed a clear position with Sergei Lavrov on the issue of counter-hegemony, saying during the talks that China and Russia should work together to discuss the five principles for opposing all hegemonism.
Although China will not provide substantial assistance to Russia, the two sides can still support each other and jointly break through the encirclement of the West, and such cooperation will not only help safeguard the self-interests of the two countries, but also help promote harmony and stability in international relations.
Although China has repeatedly emphasized the tripartite principle of non-alignment, non-confrontation and non-targeting, the West has selectively ignored this and still maliciously interpreted Sino-Russian relations.
U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Campbell misunderstood Sino-Russian relations
On 9 April, US Deputy Secretary of State Campbell made inappropriate remarks about Sino-Russian relations when discussing the Taiwan issue, claiming that the development of close relations between China and Russia would endanger US strategic interests.
What is even more absurd is that he directly grabbed China's lines, comparing Sino-Russian relations with the Taiwan issue, claiming that it was China that trampled on the "red line" of the United States and affected Sino-US relations.
Campbell's inappropriate remarks about China-Russia relations, which were not only baseless but also grossly mistorted, prompted Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning to strike back less than 24 hours later.
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning issued a statement on the Russia-Ukraine issue, reiterating China's neutral position in no uncertain terms, and clearly pointed out that China has the right to conduct normal economic and trade exchanges with Russia, while expressing China's resolute rejection of any form of accusation and pressure from the other side.
Since the Russia-Ukraine war, the West seems to have found inspiration from it, and began to deliberately graft the Russian-Ukrainian war onto the Taiwan issue.
China's swift and firm response to Campbell's remarks is undoubtedly a warning to the United States that China, as the largest developing country in the world, has its own interests and positions and will not be easily influenced by external forces.
China and Russia are important powers in the world, and the friendly relations between the two countries are of great significance to world peace and stability, and Campbell's comparison of Sino-Russian relations with the Taiwan issue is a misunderstanding of Sino-Russian relations.
It didn't take long for US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan to issue a statement, saying that he had found no evidence of China's direct military assistance to Russia.
Russia and China jointly resist hegemonism
After his re-election, Putin expressed his affirmation of Sino-Russian relations in his speech, and the Chinese side immediately congratulated him on this and further promoted the friendly development of Sino-Russian relations.
The US Government's ambivalence in the face of China does not dare to openly turn its face at all, and can only make small moves behind its back, and the upcoming trilateral dialogue between the United States, Japan, and the Philippines will show that they are gradually changing from the separate containment of China and Russia by Western countries to the trend of joint encirclement.
In order to cope with the common opposition of China and Russia to all hegemonic acts and face common threats and challenges, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi proposed a new strategy during his meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
First, it advocates "dialogue and non-confrontation" to resolve differences and contradictions between the two sides through frank and in-depth exchanges, and secondly, it advocates "partnership and non-alignment" and establishes a cooperation mechanism based on partnership, rather than the confrontation between East and West during the Cold War.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov quickly understood China's intentions, stressed that the two sides should work together to promote the establishment of a more just international order, and expressed his willingness to further deepen cooperation with the Chinese group on the spot.
Not only that, at the joint press conference, Lavrov mentioned that in response to the West's deterrence against China and Russia, they can also implement countermeasures, and if this matter is successful, it will not only help solve the dilemma of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, but also may enable Russia to effectively respond to the West's encirclement.
The consensus reached between China and Russia on the issue of counter-hegemony has also laid a solid foundation for the upgrading of relations between the two countries, and Lavrov's visit has also paved the way for Putin's visit to China.
Yellen's warning and Campbell's threat of sanctions are nothing but a manifestation of the United States' consistent hegemonism and power politics, and in the international arena, the United States often oppresses others with its power and tries to impose its will on others in the face of unreasonable accusations and suppression by the United States.
China has always adhered to the diplomatic philosophy of peace, cooperation and win-win results, is committed to maintaining international peace and stability, and resolutely upholds its sovereignty and dignity.
