Zhang Xu's "Four Posts of Ancient Poems" contains four poems, the first two of which are the sixth and eighth of Yu Xin's "Taoist Buxu Ci" by Yu Xin during the Northern and Southern Dynasties, and the last two are "Prince Jin Zan" and "Praise of Four or Five Young Men under the Rock" by Xie Lingyun of the Southern Dynasty.
The first part depicts the scene of the Dongming Jiuzhi cover and the five cloud cars of the North Candle, floating in the reflection and shuttling above the clouds. The spring spring is full of green birds, and the blue birds are gathered, outlining a fairyland. There is not only the scene of the Han Emperor appreciating the peach pit, but also the allusion of the Marquis of Qi asking about the thorn flower, which indicates that the wine guests of Shangyuan wine and the Cai family exchanged scenes.
The second song is the scene of Danshui in the north and Jiangyun in the south. The dragon mud prints the jade slip, the fire refines the true text, the Shangyuan wind and rain, and the Zhongtian brother blows the clouds and smoke. Driving on the top of Chihiro, the empty fragrance is scattered for thousands of miles, outlining a mysterious fairyland.
The third article is Xie Lingyun's praise of Wang Zijin, praising his extraordinary quality and making it difficult to compare with him. Although the prince was born into a noble family, he was insignificant compared to the Flying Immortals. The prince is handsome and uninhibited, has no quarrel with the world, meets Fuqiu Gong, and discusses the various states of life together.
The last article, "Seeing an Old Man Under the Rock, Four or Five Teenagers", describes a Hengshan medicine collector who got lost and met a group of old and young people. There was an otherworldly aura between their words, as if they were immortals. Their words and deeds are different from ordinary people, they are not confined to secular teachings, and they must be sages with profound wisdom.
These works show Zhang Xu's superb ability to control ancient poetry, as well as his profound thinking on themes such as fairyland, life, and wisdom.
