After engaging in fire with the enemy, he suddenly found himself followed by only four or five warriors. By the time the others arrived, the enemy had already run away.
In this way, because of his own courage and strategy, he failed to complete the task of annihilating the enemy!
A few days later, also taking a walk at night, Liu Bocheng told his son a story about the strategist Zhang Liang.
Zhang Liang hated Qin Shi Huang very much and thought about assassinating him. In order to implement this plan, Zhang Liang found a strong man, planning to attack Qin Shi Huang with a sledgehammer of hundreds of catties while he was traveling.
The result was unsuccessful, and Zhang Liang became a wanted target.
While Zhang Liang was hiding, he met Huang Shigong. Huang Shigong took a fancy to Zhang Liang as a promising young man, but before teaching him skills, he decided to polish off the kind of youthful vigor in him.
Once, Huang Shigong was sitting at the head of the bridge, deliberately threw his shoes under the bridge, and asked Zhang Liang to help him pick them up. Zhang Liang was a fugitive at the time, and he didn't want to cause trouble, so he did so.
Huang Shigong felt that Zhang Liang knew how to endure and passed the test, so he gave him a very strategic book "Three Strategies".
Later, Zhang Liang became Liu Bang's main adviser and was named "Liuhou".
The next day, Liu Bocheng assigned his son a homework assignment and asked him to learn "The Theory of Staying in the Marquis", and explained it to him word by word.
Liu Bocheng criticized his son for having a "second daring" temper, which is not brave, but reckless. He wants his son to know four words: "Wisdom is deep, courage is deep." ”
Liu Meng lied to his father

In Beidaihe, the cook who cooked for Liu Bocheng told Liu Meng a lot of stories about ghosts and gods that were circulated among Sichuan folk. Liu Meng listened very carefully and liked it very much.
At that time, the cook had a stomach ulcer, and Liu Bocheng had repeatedly persuaded him not to drink, not to smoke, and to go to bed earlier at night.
However, the cook did not take his illness seriously. Not only does he drink secretly, but he also plays chess with others late at night.
The cook was afraid that Liu Bocheng would know this and worry about him, so he asked Liu Meng to keep a secret for him on the condition of telling Liu Meng a story.
On this day, Liu Bocheng asked Liu Meng: "Have you seen Old Master Chen drinking recently?"
In order to listen to his uncle's story, Liu Meng had to lie to his father and said, "I didn't see it." ”
Soon after, Master Chen was seriously ill and hospitalized, and during stomach surgery, he had a medical accident and unfortunately passed away.
Liu Meng regretted it very much, complaining that he was too young at that time and didn't quite understand his father's concern for comrades.
Speaking of his father's concern for comrades, Liu Meng thought of one thing. As we all know, Beidaihe is a famous minefield.
One night, Liu Meng was awakened from his sleep by a thunderstorm. He got out of bed and wanted to close the curtains, but at this moment, Liu Meng saw his father wearing a raincoat and hurriedly walked out.
Liu Meng saw his father pull Uncle Sentinel into the house. He thought to himself that something must have happened, so he ran to the door to observe the situation.
Liu Bocheng said to the sentry, "Little ghost, such a big thunderstorm, it's too dangerous for you to stand guard under the tree, just stand guard in the house tonight."
But the sentry said that his post was outside.
Mr. Liu said he ordered the sentries to stand in the house. That's an order.
The next day, after Liu Meng went out, he saw a tall squirrel not far away, which was struck by last night's thunder and lightning, and most of the crown of the tree was cut off.
There are many other things like this kind of caring for soldiers. Liu Meng said that his father's words and deeds left an unforgettable impression on him.
Liu Bocheng is the guiding light on Liu Meng's life road
At the beginning of 1972, Liu Meng was going to Sichuan to go to university. When I went home on this holiday, there was snow on the road, and the pale yellow street lamps illuminated the footprints of passers-by very clearly.
This scene reminded Liu Meng of when he was a child. One year, it snowed heavily in Beijing, and Liu Meng walked through the snow, leaving many footprints.
After Liu Bocheng saw the child's footprints, he found that Liu Meng had a problem with "eight characters outside".
Since then, Liu Bocheng has often corrected Liu Meng's walking posture. A few years later, Liu Meng corrected this problem.
After returning home, Liu Meng sat next to his father, and the two chatted all over the world.
