Dyson today unveiled a new generation of hair tech – the Dyson Supersonic Nural™ smart hair dryer. After eight years of updates and iterations, Dyson has launched a new sensing technology that redefines the "smart hair dryer" with scalp protection mode, accessory setting memory function and pause detection mode, providing consumers with scalp care and flexible styling experience.

In the new scalp protection mode, the Supersonic Nural™ smart hair dryer automatically adjusts the air temperature according to the blowing distance, ensuring that the air temperature reaching the scalp is always kept at a constant temperature of 155°C. When close to the hair, the hair dryer automatically lowers the temperature to prevent overheating damage to the scalp, and when it is further away from the scalp, it raises the temperature to ensure efficient drying of hair. This intelligent thermostat balances rapid drying with scalp comfort, helping to strengthen the scalp barrier and keep hair hydrated and shiny.

Next-generation hair technology that strengthens the scalp barrier3 to keep hair hydrated and shiny

The scalp is where hair grows, it is connected to the skin of the face, and it is also one of the skin areas that needs to be cared for all over the body, so it is important to take care of the health of the scalp. A healthy scalp barrier prevents scalp moisture loss, maintains moisture levels in the stratum corneum, helps prevent scalp dryness and tightness caused by moisture loss, and helps defend against regular changes in the external environment. When the scalp barrier is damaged, it will lead to the loss of moisture from the scalp, which in turn will affect the health of the scalp. There are many reasons why the scalp barrier is compromised, such as changes in the external environment or excessive dry hair temperature, which can cause scalp discomfort and affect scalp health.

James Dyson, founder and principal engineer at Dyson, said: "Avoiding overheating helps protect the health of your scalp and hair. Based on this key question, Dyson is committed to bringing the innovative Supersonic Nutritional™ smart hair dryer to consumers around the world through its strong laboratory and R&D capabilities. ”

The new Dyson sensor technology is equipped with Scalp Protection mode, which automatically detects the distance between the air outlet and the scalp when drying hair, and automatically adjusts the temperature according to the distance, so that the air temperature reaching the scalp is stable and controllable, thereby protecting the scalp barrier2. At the same time, the color of the capsule indicator will also indicate the change of wind temperature according to the distance, providing consumers with intuitive feedback.

Smarter and more flexible, opening a new era of hair dryer categories

Dyson is focused on meeting the different needs of consumers and constantly innovating technology to provide a better user experience. The Dyson Supersonic Nural™ smart hair dryer is also thoughtfully designed for consumers with accessory settings, memory function and pause detection mode. Equipped with magnetic sensing technology, it can automatically identify five smart nozzles – soft nozzle, smooth nozzle, styling nozzle, anti-flyover nozzle and diffuse nozzle – and "remember" the consumer's styling preferences, when the user switches the nozzle, the wind speed and temperature[4] will automatically match the previous settings, eliminating the need for manual adjustment each time, simplifying the consumer's daily styling process and bringing a more convenient user experience.

In addition, the Dyson Supersonic Nural™ smart hair dryer also has a pause detection mode, which automatically detects the placement status of the hair dryer when it is laid flat, automatically pauses heating, and reduces wind speed and noise. This user-friendly design not only makes the daily use experience more comfortable for consumers, but also makes the hair care and styling process safer.

The new product experience hall is newly unveiled in Shanghai Xintiandi, inviting you to explore the new technology of Dyson smart hair care.
