The definition of chivalry and swordsman in Shan Lao's commentary is different from the traditional cognition, and it is an exclusive noun to divide the level of martial arts masters, and swordsmen are stronger than chivalrous. With the development of the plot, there are more and more swordsmen who are rare, and the gap in martial arts is getting bigger and bigger, so in the middle and late stages of the storytelling, Shan Lao gave a list of fourteen masters who are commonly known as the "Heavenly List" by book friends, which is equivalent to making a second distinction between swordsmen and top swordsmen.
Today, we will focus on the Jianghu Heavenly List, according to the five levels of heaven, earth, Xuan, Huang and the heavens that override everything to divide the strength of these fourteen swordsmen.
Yellow (4 people)
The four swordsmen of the lowest rank all have some problems more or less, namely the "Yin Light Archmage" Gu Yue Monk, the "Ancient Strange Man" Liu Mu, the "Turning the Tide and Seeing the Ten Directions" Ouyang Zhonghui and the "Ten Thousand Miles Soul Chasing Old Devil" Peng Hai Peng Gongliang.
Gu Yue ranked twelfth on the original heavenly list, and was called "only higher than Xiahou Ren" by Shan Lao, just because of his corrupt character, and there were too many elders who were inferior to the white cloud swordsman, so that he was pushed under Xiahou Ren by his fellow Jianghu colleagues, for which he has been indignant. But judging from the fact that the Guyue monk Twenty He was abolished by Long Yunfeng in the Golden Lantern Array, his martial arts are not worse than Xiahou Ren, and even some people feel that he is in a high position and does not live up to his name. But even so, I still ranked it as the highest among the four swords in the same class, because the other three were more problematic.
Second only to Gu Yue is Liu Mu, who was originally ranked tenth on the heavenly list, but there was no other record except for the group beating and stumbling Xia Suiliang, and even in the sea battle, seeing that the Kunlun monk killed his two best friends Ma Tianshu and Ma Tianchi, he was indifferent, and his performance was not as good as Gu Yue.
The third is Ouyang Zhonghui, the head of the eight famous monks of Shaolin, although he was originally only mentioned in the past and had no specific performance, and even if Ouyang Zhonghui finally appeared in the South China Sea and Xiao Penglai chapters, he still did not have any achievements. Although judging from the skills shown by his younger brother Ouyang Puzhong and the third ranked among the eight famous monks, Ouyang Zhonghui, whose martial arts should be higher than them, may be qualified to be on the heavenly list, but because he has no record, he can only succumb to this.
Finally, Peng Hai, who was ranked thirteenth, was more embarrassed than anyone else, because he did not appear from beginning to end, so being the last of the fourteen musketeers was not wronged.
All in all, these four masters of the heavenly list either have sparse records, no records, or no records at all, so they simply put them in the last gear, which belongs to the existence of the "crane tail" among the masters.
Xuan (4 people)
This level is more controversial, mainly because Shan Lao has different positions before and after at least three of them.
Let's talk about Long Yunfeng, the strongest of the four, and the only character who matches the settings before and after. Born in the Demon Mountain School, he learned the magic mountain swordsmanship, nicknamed "Flying Witch", but the weapon is called "Closed Moon Shame Light Sweeping Demon Sword", which is really ruthless and doesn't even let go of himself.
In terms of combat record, Long Yunfeng persisted in more than 30 defeats in the face of Xia Suiliang, who was full of firepower (in a one-on-one situation, Xia Suiliang would only hang the three-pointed dagger on the chain when facing a real master and the opponent also used weapons, and only Bai Yizi and Long Yunfeng had this kind of treatment in the impression). However, more than twenty times defeated Gu Yue, which is enough to prove its strength. In addition, Tao Fuan was extremely jealous of Long Yunfeng, and he didn't even dare to fight with him alone.
Immediately following Long Yunfeng was the ninth-ranked Wang Ape. Wang Ape's original setting was that Sanlily and Bai Yizi were evenly matched, but after the appearance of the Heavenly List, Bai Yizi had risen to the same level as his teacher Wannian Ancient Buddha, and it was definitely not comparable to Wang Ape. However, Wang Ape is still enough to surpass Tao Fuan, because in the same face of Long Yunfeng, Tao Fuan obviously can't be provoked, while Wang Ape is completely fearless, and he fights with Long Yunfeng for thirty times without winning or losing. At that time, Long Yunfeng had just fought with several swordsmen, and his physical strength was lost to a certain extent, but after the two fought, Wang Ape's state was obviously better than Long Yunfeng. In other words, the energetic Wang Ape is theoretically slightly stronger than Long Yunfeng, who has impaired physical strength, and the two are roughly equal.
The third place is Tao Fuan, a typical example of opening high and walking low. When he appeared, he blew boundlessly, and even the snow bamboo lotus was used by him to open up. When he was serious, he also said that there was only one Yu in the world who couldn't fight with himself, and as for Xia Suiliang, he was not sure because he hadn't tried it. And through Xia Suiliang's faint jealousy and the pursuit of Tao Fuan in Shan Lao's narration, it seems that his strength is likely to be no less than that of the Golden Lantern Swordsman.
But in the actual battle, Tao Lu, who had later fallen to the eighth place in the heavenly list, was not only suppressed in front of Xia Suiliang, but even Long Yunfeng did not dare to provoke, which shows how much his setting has changed.
The last one is more controversial than Tao Fu'an - the head of the upper three gates, the Baiyun swordsman Xiahouren. Before the appearance of the heavenly list, Xia Suiliang fought more than 100 times without winning or losing, and Shan Lao even said that there was a hair difference between the two. But after the appearance of the heavenly list, these two fought again for only more than 20 combinations, and they couldn't stop it. Therefore, it is not appropriate to rank Xiahouren low or high, so I simply chose a median value and listed Xiahouren here.
Prefecture level (3 people)
This level is the top master among the second generation of disciples, and it can be called a ceiling-level existence in the rivers and lakes where the saints do not come out, respectively, the "Golden Lantern Swordsman" Xia Suiliang, the "Ten Thousand Years Ancient Buddha" Murmuring Arhat, and the "White-clothed Prodigy Little Sword Demon" Bai Lao Bai Yizi.
According to the order on the list of rivers and lakes, the three of them are ranked four, five or six, but the gap between them is very small, Xia Suiliang and the ancient Buddha of ten thousand years and Bai Yizi have all fought, and the result is not a winner.
The Great War of the Ten Thousand Years Ancient Buddha takes place near the end of the book, because Bai Chun's night visit to Xiao Penglai was detected, which triggered a sea battle between Xia Suiliang's gang who chased Bai Chun and the Shangsanmen side who rushed to the rescue, and the two sides used the big ship as the ring for a two-by-two duel. After Tao Fuan defeated the Kunlun monk, he faced the golden lantern swordsman to block the forty he, and saw that he was about to lose, and at the last moment, the ancient Buddha of ten thousand years arrived with his disciple Wang Ape, and Xia Suiliang fought fiercely with Lily, and finally equalized.
Here are two details, it can be seen that Xia Suiliang's theoretical strength is slightly stronger. One is that Shan Lao clearly said that the muttering Arhat is a hair worse than Xia Suiliang, and the other is that before the appearance of the Ten Thousand Years Ancient Buddha, Xia Suiliang and Tao Fu'an fought forty times, and there was a slight loss of physical strength. Therefore, theoretically, it is reasonable that Xia Suiliang is higher than the 10,000-year-old ancient Buddha in terms of ranking.
The battle between Xia Suiliang and Bai Yizi was even more exciting, the two fought three times, each with a victory. Bai Yizi's victory was due to the fact that Xia Suiliang had just experienced the "Eight Old Battles Golden Lantern", and he was already at the end of the strong crossbow, but he was picked up by the little sword demon who happened to arrive. Moreover, Bai Yizi has always left no room for him, if it weren't for Tao Fu'an and Zhuge Yuanying's hard persuasion, he almost killed Xia Suiliang on the spot.
The time Xia Suiliang won was in Xiao Penglai, because Bai Yizi trespassed into Bixia Palace and killed the protector of the martial saint, which made Yu He angry and ordered his disciples to capture the little sword demon. Xia Suiliang finally had the opportunity to be ashamed, and immediately led the Guyue monk and Kunlun monk to besiege Bai Yizi, and seriously injured Bai Yizi in just a few combinations, which can be regarded as a return to a city.
The only fair duel between the two was at the Three Churches, when negotiations broke down and the two sides started in anger. First, the fist and foot competition was one hundred and fifty together, and then Bai Yizi raised the Buddha's light sword, and Xia Suiliang also hung the three-pointed dagger on the chain, and the result was one hundred and fifty together, and there was still no winner.
Three hundred rounds are not equal, it is enough to see that Xia Suiliang and Bai Yizi are equal in strength, but there is still a slight gap between the two, that is, Xia Suiliang's physical strength recovery speed is obviously faster than Bai Yizi. After the battle, after a short rest and adjustment, Xia Suiliang began to shout, on the other hand, Bai Yizi was panting, and it was difficult to have the strength to fight again.
Therefore, from the perspective of the battle process, Xia Suiliang, Wannian Ancient Buddha, and Bai Yizi are reasonable in the ranking of hard power, but this gap exists more in theory, and the actual combat may not be able to distinguish the winner from the loser, and it should be listed as the same grade.
Day (2 people)
Although it seems to be only one level higher than the Xuan level, the gap between the two levels is insurmountable, and the two swordsmen in this file and their junior disciples are called the "Three Sages of Martial Arts", respectively, the "Eighty-one Gate Chief" Pudu Pu Qunsheng of Emei Mountain, Sichuan, and the "Long Hair Dao Changfeng Master" of the Iceberg Arctic Island.
Many people questioned Xue Zhulian's ability, thinking that he might not be as good as his nephew Xia Suiliang. But in fact, Shan Lao has a clear explanation between the two. At that time, Xue Zhulian argued with Yu He in Xiaopenglai Bixia Palace, but as a result, Xia Suiliang, who was a junior, interjected rashly, and reversed black and white, which made the grumpy Xue Zhulian angry.
With Yu He's vision and understanding of his senior brother and apprentice, I believe that there will be no misjudgment, so that is to say, although Xia Suiliang's performance is excellent and his strength is quite strong, he is still a little insufficient in front of Xue Zhulian.
Although Pudu, the boss of the Three Saints, is often mentioned, he only officially appears in the final battle, and there is no one-on-one display, and he directly pulls seven or eight masters to besiege He. However, there is an explanation in the book, saying that his ability is so much higher than that of Xue Zhulian, so the two are at the ground level, and the martial arts are equal to each other.
Outer Heaven (1 person)
In this list, the martial saint Yu He is the only transcendent existence, although he and Pudu and Xue Zhulian are the apprentices of the same master, but judging from his ability to crush the long-haired Taoist and Pudu is only slightly better than Xue Zhulian, Yu He's martial arts are obviously superior to the two senior brothers.
Therefore, "Pushing Eight Hundred Opponents Xuanyuan to Reappear as a Martial Saint" Yu He is a solo heavenly level, which is well deserved.
The above is the classification of the martial arts level of the fourteen top masters in the commentary "White Eyebrows", please forgive me for the inappropriateness.
