IT Home reported on April 11 that according to a report by German technology media ComputeBase, IBASE attended the Embedded World 2024 conference and publicly demonstrated the motherboard using LGA-1851 socket for the first time.
This motherboard is compatible with Intel Meteor Lake processors and is mainly used in embedded systems. The media in-depth observation shared a number of photos, confirming that the LGA-1851 is the same size as Intel's existing LGA-1700 socket, and the relevant pictures are attached as follows:
Not CPU compatible, but CPU cooler compatible
However, the LGA-1851 socket is not compatible with existing LGA-1700 socket processors due to the addition of 151 pins and an adjustment of the CPU locking system.
However, since the LGA-1851 is the same size as Intel's existing LGA-1700 socket, all LGA-1700-compatible CPU coolers are compatible with the LGA-1851 motherboard.
Intel will use the LGA-800 on upcoming 1851 series desktop boards, which will be compatible with Intel Arrow Lake desktop processors (Core Ultra 200 series) when they become available later this year.
