There is a type of painter among the artists, they like to paint figure paintings, so their creative inspiration comes from social reality, these painters will see the content to make the material constantly refine, purify, and finally complete their works, this is the kind of creation, so that their works are easy to resonate and reflect on others.

"Disproportionate Marriage": The story behind a 16-year-old girl marrying an 80-year-old man, grandparents and grandchildren

After I saw a wedding with a difference of 25 years, I suddenly thought of a special oil painting created by the Russian painter Pukilev in 1862.

This oil painting depicts a "sick marriage" similar to what I saw in reality, depicting a 16-year-old girl marrying an 80-year-old man, and this work is called "Disproportionate Marriage".

In a sacred Christian church, an elderly priest is placing a wedding ring on the hand of a 16-year-old girl, and next to the girl stands his "groom", an 80-year-old gray-haired old man with a candle in his hand, and his eyes have been watching the priest bring the wedding ring to his bride.

At the same time, the bride bowed her head, her expression glazed over, her left hand holding the same candle as her "groom", but her candle was held very low, and she did not seem to want to put the wedding ring on her right hand that bound her whole life.

Focusing his gaze on the groom's facial expression, he had a smug smile on his face, perhaps fantasizing about his next happy life and that wonderful wedding night.

Looking at the girl's face, you can see that her red eyes, her eyes are dull, and her expression is depressed, you can imagine that she may have secretly cried before this, but I don't know how many times he has cried, it is obvious that she does not want such a wedding, but she is forced to stand in this sacred place.

When looking at the people in the background, they seemed to be talking to each other, but their expressions were strange, and it was not difficult to see that they did not send their wishes to this new couple, and there was jealousy and envy in the eyes of these people. Beyond that, there was an old woman, her eyes full of hatred, staring straight at the bridegroom.

This picture was painted in warm tones by the writer, but this scene is contrary to this tone, and it is unknown what kind of outcome awaits a couple with such a large age gap. In this work, I also painted myself in it, and the observer is the author himself.

"Disproportionate Marriage": The story behind a 16-year-old girl marrying an 80-year-old man, grandparents and grandchildren

The eighty-year-old "groom" in the painting is said to be a general from a prominent family, and what is the reason why this girl is forced to marry this old general?

It turned out that his parents sold their daughter, whom they raised with their own hands, to this general, such a pair of newcomers with such a big gap, what common words do they have, in fact, how can this girl accept this old general?

It has always been their parents who run the marriage, and as a child, does they have no right to pursue the love they want?

There were many such works in Russia at that time, all of which were exposing the criminal reality of marriage at that time, and this painting was one of the representative works of that time, which can be seen in the evil transaction, and nakedly criticized the evil of human nature.

Behind this grandson love, it is not actually a love that spans age, but a transaction full of copper smell. The young girl's parents may have said more than once that the general was good, and more than once that the decision was made for her good, but is the reality really good?

I only saw the transaction of money and the evil of human nature behind it.

This kind of evil of human nature was all over the Western world at that time, especially the upper and middle classes, and when such works came out, they were opposed, and it was not difficult to guess that no one wanted to show the ugly things they had done to the world.

This situation is not only in Western societies, but also in ancient Chinese societies. The nobles had three wives and four concubines, and the children of poor families married into the high-walled compound, nominally enjoying glory and wealth, but in fact they had to do their best to snatch the grace of that night, and finally died of depression.

Fortunately, now we finally don't have to obey the so-called parental orders and matchmakers, and we can boldly pursue the other half we like.

Maybe there will still be girls who like uncles and go to a love that forgets their age, but this is true love, not mixed with any transactions in it.

I am very pleased to see that more and more young people advocate hard work and enterprising, and for marrying into a wealthy family, many people are no longer eager to marry, but the courage of my own wealthy family, in this positive and optimistic environment, I believe it will get better and better.

The melancholy woman and the dying old aristocrat will never appear in our real world again.

Art not only shows the beauty of human nature, but also reflects the evil of human nature, many beautiful things appear in art, and many ugly things are also exposed by art one by one.
