On April 7, EHang announced that it has obtained the EH216-S unmanned manned aircraft system production license (PC) issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China. This is the first production license in the global eVTOL industry, and it is another important milestone after the EH216-S successfully obtained the Type Certificate (TC) and Standard Airworthiness Certificate (AC), marking the EH216-S to enter the large-scale production stage and providing an important guarantee for the next step of commercial operation. On April 7, the EH216-S unmanned manned aircraft system production license awarding ceremony was held in Guangzhou High-tech Zone.
It is reported that the production license is an important and key certificate issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China to aircraft manufacturers. This certification shows that EHang has established a mass production quality management system that meets the requirements of China's civil aviation airworthiness regulations, and has been approved for continuous production and mass production, which provides a strong guarantee for the quality of EHang's products.
According to Hu Huazhi, Founder, Chairman and CEO of EHang, the production license is an important milestone for EH216-S to enter the large-scale production stage, and it is also a key step for EHang to promote commercial operations. EHang is a pioneer in the field of eVTOL, having released the first manned-level autonomous aerial vehicle in 2016, and has been exploring urban air mobility (IAM) since the low-altitude economy became a hot concept. In the fourth quarter of 2023, EHang's EH216-S obtained the first unmanned manned eVTOL aircraft Type Certificate (TC Certificate) and Standard Airworthiness Certificate (AC Certificate) issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China. On March 20 this year, a EHang EH216-S "air taxi" was successfully sold in the Taobao live broadcast room, completing the country's first order for unmanned manned aircraft on an e-commerce platform.
