The gold, silver, and four? It has to be him!

Recently, I have come to the "Golden Three, Silver and Fourth" of Internet job hunting, and I have read the resumes of many job seekers, some of whom are stunning and clear at a glance, and some of which are difficult to explain and at a loss.

Whether it is the gold third or the silver fourth, whether it is the spring recruitment or the autumn recruitment, it is inseparable from a high-quality and pleasing resume.

The gold, silver, and four? It has to be him!

Chat with a few friends in the same industry and summarize several lightning points of your resume to see if you have been recruited:

1. A resume is not a journal, so don't be unfocused.

The resume is not to describe what you have done before, but to express what grades you have achieved before, so that the person looking at the resume can feel that you are excellent and a good match.

So, don't have to describe the companies and projects you've experienced completely, there are two problems:

  • Lacking focus, it is difficult to grasp at once what you want to express to match the position.
  • If your experience is not very good and the project results are not very good, you may lose points.

Therefore, you must remember not to record like a journal, but to find the experience that best matches the requirements of the job and can best reflect your ability to focus on it, and the others can not be mentioned or brought in a sentence.

2. A resume is not a pile of words, not the more words, the better.

Even if you focus on the core resume that highlights your abilities, it must not be a "pile of words".

The description of the experience in the resume is not as long as possible, and the more detailed the better. It's about highlighting the results, the better.

It's very simple, if you can have an easy-to-understand number highlighting effect, then you must use numbers. A phrase "10% increase in conversion rate" is more useful than your 100-word description of the sky.

Of course, it is not excluded that some projects are difficult to describe in concrete numbers, so you can highlight your abilities at this time.

How to explore user needs, how to conduct data analysis, and how to design solutions for C-end product projects?

How to design the system architecture and form a set of standard product methodologies for B-end product projects?

When appropriate, you can also bold and black the content you want to express.

A complete description of the project experience is not unimportant, but the premise that you want the recruiter to take a serious look at it must be that what you are focusing on must attract him.

So, sometimes don't blame others for not respecting the fruits of your labor, whether it's something you've worked so hard to do that isn't engaging enough and makes people tired to read.

3. The resume should reflect the professionalism of being a social person, and don't write about the trivial things and rewards in school.

As a social recruitment job seeker, everyone must be a "social animal", and they should have a more mature mind. Learn to put yourself in the recruiter's shoes and think about what he wants to see on this resume.

The last thing he wants to see must be - what clubs you participated in in college, what small awards you won, and even what awards you won in high school.

To put it mildly, if you recruit a person to be a product manager in the e-commerce industry, and he tells you that he won the third prize in the provincial physics competition in high school, does that have anything to do with you?

When you have been working for about five years, your university experience is really not so important, mainly reflecting your academic qualifications, such as master's and doctoral degrees, 985 and 211 college graduates, overseas study experience, etc. Unless you are the president of the student union in college and have won a national scholarship, there are still certain pluses.

But don't really write that you have participated in many clubs and won the third prize in a certain activity. Unless you're interviewing for an event organization or operations related position.

4. Resumes don't have to be photographed, don't put bells and whistles.

It's certainly okay to put a suitable photo on your resume, because recruitment and job hunting are also a matter of eyesight. It is undeniable that a good image will definitely have a plus. Also, sometimes the photo includes a description of the gender, because we tend to rarely include the gender in the resume.

But correspondingly, a poor image will definitely lose points.

Don't be clever and try to put up some more maverick and personal photos to attract the attention of recruiters. Let's be honest, if you're a recruiter and you have a busy day at work, and then you have to sift through resumes, and then you see someone with all the bells and whistles, you might think that this person is a little interesting, or you may think this person is boring, but either way, it won't help you in this job search.

Recruitment and job hunting are a very pragmatic thing after all, not a joke, and may even be more serious than a blind date. A blind date may be a few times for two people to meet, and the other person may be attracted to your humor. But recruitment has to go through multiple layers of screening and interviews, and the chances of you attracting everyone with your humor are slim to none.

It's better to be down-to-earth and conquer recruiters with strength.

5. Resumes are not PPTs, tables and graphics really don't matter.

Now I see a lot of people's resume templates, and there are more and more tricks. Many people want to use that kind of pie chart to express their ability items, or use some small chart content to explain the expression.

The gold, silver, and four? It has to be him!

However, it's really not necessary!

First of all, a resume is a flat display thing, and many times, he is just a piece of paper, and even, he is a black and white paper.

Why do you have to make an Excel or PPT on paper?

Secondly, if you want to express your ability to do Excel and PPT, do you think you can achieve the desired effect by putting such simple and rough graphics on your resume?

The physical form of the resume is just an A4 piece of paper, and there is no need for him to bear a lot of things that are not what he should bear.

It is enough to express every content, every word, and every number clearly.

Later, after reading so many resumes, I decided to write it myself, mainly to see how I could write it.

I don't know if I don't write, but I also write a lot of feelings.

When you write about your work experience, you think about the work in the past few years, what evaluations and achievements have you gained? Is it really good enough? Is it good to express it?

When I write about my project experience, I think about what is the most meaningful value of these projects, can I clearly express them through numbers, and how can I express the ability I have demonstrated in the project?

A lot of times, it's always easier said than done, but when you do it, you'll find all kinds of stumbling through.

But it also gave me a good inspiration that if you really want to look for a job and want to write a resume, then you should be more conscious of "resume-oriented" work.

When you do everything, you should consider whether the thing is valuable, how should its value be presented, and whether it should be expressed in your resume?

On the one hand, it makes work more purposeful, purposeful, and efficient. On the one hand, it can reduce the pressure of writing resumes in the future, and get twice the result with half the effort.

A qualified CV should include the following modules:

1. Basic Information

At the beginning, it is necessary to introduce the personal name, age, education, major, and contact information in a simple and clear manner.

2. Personal summary

Use a few keywords, not including three lines, to summarize your own characteristics. Like what

Characteristics of the work - how many years of product experience, what field is good at, what awards have been won in the work;

Learning characteristics - what certificates have you gotten, whether you have the experience of learning and sharing, and what achievements you have;

Other soft skills - whether you have leadership, whether you have led a team, whether you have the ability to be novel and explore new things, etc

3. Work experience

Explain what time period, what company you are in, what position you hold, what business content or what system module you are responsible for, and briefly describe what business achievements you have achieved. Focus on the business content and achievements that are relevant to the current job application.

If there is more than one period of work experience, it will be explained in reverse chronological order, from near to far.

You don't need to write too much about the content you are responsible for and the achievements you have made, just be able to express the core content.

4. Project experience

Write about the core projects you have experienced in the company, which can be expressed in the following ways:

What problems are being solved, what strategies are employed, what are you responsible for from them, and what results are ultimately achieved.

For this paragraph to be well-structured, the following four points need to be met:

  • Questions should be written clearly and understandably
  • The strategy should be written professionally and professionally
  • The content of responsibility should reflect your abilities
  • The final effect should be quantified as numerically as possible

For example, in order to solve the problem of low pass rate and low GMV of installment shopping for users, through strategies such as accurate risk identification, simplified business processes, and diversification of installment service funds, the pass rate has been increased from 20% to 30% through the introduction of external partners (external negotiation and cooperation capabilities, inter-company collaboration capabilities), business and risk strategy linkage (intra-company collaboration capabilities, project promotion capabilities), product plan planning output (product planning capabilities), and project promotion and implementation (project management and problem-solving capabilities) , with an average daily increase of GMV1000 million.

5. Extra thinking

We have different requirements for different companies and different positions. If you have the time to prepare your resume, you can think about it more, including:

  • Thinking and analysis of this industry, how is the development of the industry, and what are the prospects
  • Thinking and analysis of this company, what are the strengths and weaknesses of the company
  • Thinking and analysis of this product, what is the audience, characteristics, and strategy of the product, how it compares with competing products, and what is the current scale

On the one hand, it reflects your desire to apply for the position and is fully prepared. On the one hand, it can reflect your thinking ability and analytical ability.

Of course, this difficulty is relatively high, because it may be necessary to make different preparations for different companies, which may not be necessary in the resume, but must be prepared before the interview.

Finally, I would like to give you another tool for resume writing.

Many people will use word to write a resume, adjust it in the template, not only need to write the content, but also need to consider the layout of the template format. Sometimes when there is too much text, the format is not good-looking, and it needs to be adjusted frequently. This is actually very inefficient.

I believe that many people have come into contact with LaTeX when writing essays in college, and one of the great benefits of LaTex writing essays and resumes is that if you choose a template, you don't have to worry about the template, you only need to fill in the text. The text and template are edited separately.

There are a lot of good latex editors out there, such as Slagger.

On the platform, there are a lot of ready-made resume templates. Select one of them, click to enter the template, select the text content of the corresponding area to fill in, and edit and refresh it to be synchronized to the template. Make sure the formatting is clean and tidy, and you don't have to worry about formatting when editing text.

The gold, silver, and four? It has to be him!

This article is also my feeling of reading and writing resumes in "Golden Three, Silver and Four". I hope to help friends in need.
