Announcement on the revocation of the approval of the rice variety "Zhaojingnuo 188".
According to the relevant provisions of Article 21 of the Seed Law of the People's Republic of China and Article 44 of the Measures for the Examination and Approval of Major Crop Varieties, if the varieties that have passed the examination and approval fail to provide standard samples of varieties as required or the standard samples are not true, the examination and approval shall be revoked.
Zhaojing Nuo 188 (approval number: Anhui Rice 20222006) passed the examination with a special type of colored rice. The DUS test report provided by the applicant at the time of validation showed that the brown rice of this variety was purple and mottled in color. After verification by the Rice Professional Committee, the brown rice of the standard sample of Zhaojingnuo 188 variety submitted by the applicant for the approval of this variety to the National Germplasm Bank of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences was ordinary beige. The color of the brown rice tested by DUS was inconsistent with that of the standard sample, indicating that the standard sample of Zhaojingnuo 188 provided to the National Germplasm Bank of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences was not true.
The Office of the Provincial Crop Variety Examination and Approval Committee shall revoke the examination and approval of the relevant provisions of Article 44, Paragraph 3 of the Measures for the Examination and Approval of Major Crop Varieties: If the standard samples of the varieties are not provided as required or the standard samples are not true, the examination and approval shall be revoked. In accordance with the provisions of Article 45 of the Measures for the Examination and Approval of Major Crop Varieties, the Office of the Provincial Crop Variety Examination and Approval Committee submitted a proposal to the Rice Professional Committee to revoke the approval, and the Rice Professional Committee made a preliminary review opinion agreeing to revoke the approval of Zhaojing Nuo 188, which is now to be publicized on the website of the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs for a period of 30 days (April 7, 2024 to May 6, 2024).
If there is any objection during the publicity period, please reflect it to the Office of the Provincial Crop Variety Examination and Approval Committee, and the objecting units and individuals should indicate the contact person's name, telephone, email, address and other contact information.
