On April 4, the "100-year-old patriotic chess king Xie Xiaxun Memorial Exhibition" produced and sent by the Chess Small World Club was unveiled at the Party and Mass Service Center of Changbai Xincun Sub-district Office in Yangpu District.
On the same day, the "Xie Xiaxun Cup" Chinese and foreign chess friendly match was held. Many Chinese and foreign chess enthusiasts gathered together to meet friends through chess and commemorate this 100-year-old patriotic chess king with a legendary life.
During the event, a feature film produced by Shanghai Educational Television was played, showing the extraordinary life of the chess king. Xie Xiaxun (1888-1987), who used small chess pieces to show China's wisdom in chess competitions, used chess to promote the Anti-Japanese War, raised funds to support the anti-Japanese war, and mobilized overseas Chinese youth to return to China to join the anti-Japanese war...... With the inheritance and development of generations of predecessors, China has become a chess powerhouse.
At the scene, Li Ang, an international chess referee and founder of the Small World Club, said that the club was established by Mr. Lin Feng, and is committed to practicing the purpose of "patriotism and serving the country" of the old chess king, encouraging children to meet friends with chess, integrate into society, improve themselves, and strive to serve the motherland with their own specialties in the future.
After the unveiling of the commemorative exhibition plaque of the chess king, the "Xie Xiaxun Cup" Chinese and foreign chess friendly tournament also "started". Players from Slovenia, Russia, Germany, Bulgaria and Ukraine formed a team, and the small world team composed of Zhu Liangchao's disciples Hu Yan, Li Yan, Wu Xiaomeng, Gan Yuchen and Coach Liu Dong launched five rounds of 15+10 team round-robin matches. At the same time, on the other side of the venue, there is a chess wheel match: a chess grandmaster takes on a group of amateur players. The game is tense and exciting, and the players are engrossed...... The inheritance of chess culture from generation to generation is the best reward for the chess king's lifelong efforts.
