On the afternoon of April 7, badminton Olympic champion Gao Wei walked into Maqiao Junior High School in Xian'an District and interacted with the students here.
He started training at the age of eight, was selected for the provincial team of Hubei Province at the age of 12, entered the national team at the age of 17, won the first championship at the age of 19, and became the Olympic champion at the age of 20. Gao Wei shared his path to the championship in the school lecture hall, which won the applause of his classmates. She said frankly: There is no shortcut to success, she has had a trough, and she has thought about giving up, but only by enduring loneliness, not afraid of failure, and focusing on yourself can you tend to succeed.
Subsequently, she presented badminton sports equipment to the school, encouraging the children to actively participate in sports, feel the Olympic spirit in sports, not give up easily in the face of difficulties, and once they have made a choice, they must grit their teeth and persevere.
In the school playground, Gao Wei had friendly competition and communication with his classmates, sweating together and enjoying the joy of sports brought by badminton. After the game, Gao Wei explained badminton skills to the teachers and students, emphasized the essentials of movements, signed autographs for teachers and students, and took a group photo downstairs in the school's Yucai building.
