And "Commander of the Whirlwind" Han Xianchu is one of them, he has never lost a battle in his life, he is brave and wise in battle, and has repeatedly performed miraculous feats, from the white mountains and black waters to the ends of the earth, he is a great hero of the battle to liberate Hainan Island, and has created a military historical miracle of "wooden sailing ships carrying cannons and grenades hitting warships".
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Han Xianchu was very concerned about his hometown Hong'an, and he came to his hometown many times.
In 1959, Han Xianchu returned to his hometown to inspect, although Han Xianchu wanted to keep a low profile, but before he returned to his hometown, the news that "the general was going to come back for inspection" had spread all over Hong'an County.
Both the county and the villagers were looking forward to the arrival of the general, but Han Xianchu faced the grand welcome ceremony, which still made his face change greatly, and he said to the leaders of the county:
"It is not a blessing for me to come back, and I will not go if you arrange this",
In his opinion, these are all superficial work, and he has always opposed these trends, and after listening to the report of the secretary of the county party committee, Han Xianchu even took the case and angrily reprimanded: "You guys are really foolish!"
Why was Han Xianchu angry? What happened to him when he returned to his hometown this time?
Han Xianchu returned to his hometown, but the case was taken
In 1949, in the Liaoshen Campaign, he shocked the enemy's courage and led his troops to annihilate the headquarters of the Kuomintang Fan Hanjie and Liao Yaoxiang, and then participated in the Pingjin Campaign.
Han Xianchu, who had repeatedly performed miraculous achievements, was appointed deputy commander of the Fourth Field Army Corps of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, and at this time he waved his army south, returning to his hometown Hong'an, which had been absent for 15 years.
This time back to his hometown, Han Xianchu met his childhood partner, and also talked cordially with the villagers, it is worth mentioning that after many years, Han Xianchu still remembers the four buckets of millet that he owed his childhood partner Wu Haizhou at that time.
This made Wu Haizhou very moved, and Han Xianchu just said:
"If you borrow something and pay it back, this is the three major disciplines and eight points of attention."
This time back to his hometown, Han Xianchu made a short stay, then got up and returned to Beijing to devote himself to work, until 1959, Han Xianchu returned to Hong'an again, he wanted to see what Hong'an is like today, and wanted to talk to the villagers again.
The villagers learned that Han Xianchu was coming, and they spontaneously organized a welcome ceremony, Han Xianchu didn't know, he was also very angry when he saw the grand welcome ceremony, but because of the enthusiasm of the villagers, Han Xianchu did not reprimand in public.
Han Xianchu focused on the inspection work this time, he was worried, and then listened to the report of the secretary of the county party committee, the secretary of the county party committee talked about the increase in grain production in Hong'an County, and talked eloquently, and the people in the conference room heard the harvest of Hong'an, and they also nodded again and again, and they were looking forward to Han Xianchu's praise.
The secretary of the county party committee continued to talk eloquently:
"This year's grain output is 20,000 catties, and the county plans to increase the output to 30,000 catties next year.......
Unexpectedly, Han Xianchu was furious, and angrily reprimanded: "You guys are fooling", in an instant, the secretary of the county party committee was stunned, and the atmosphere in the conference room became serious, Han Xianchu continued:
"Everyone grew up in the countryside, it is normal to have a few hundred catties of an acre of land, thousands of catties, that is, God has opened his eyes, and in the end, the navigator harmed the villagers. It can't go on like this, the yield per mu is tens of thousands of catties, but the people are still hungry. ”
The atmosphere became solemn for a while, the secretary of the county party committee knew that he was guilty, and he also lowered his head silently, and after Han Xianchu was furious, he gradually calmed down and said:
"You grassroots units still have to seek truth from facts, and you can't go too far, and if such a high grain output is reported, how much will everyone have to pay for public grain?
Han Xianchu's words were all worried about the villagers, and the cadres and leaders present also bowed their heads and remained silent.......
For this reason, after he returned to Beijing, he cared about the lives of the people in his hometown and the production of grain many times, until 1975, when Han Xianchu returned to his hometown again........
"How come the lives of the villagers haven't changed significantly"
In 1975, Han Xianchu returned to his hometown to visit his hometown, and after that, Han Xianchu went door to door to visit the villagers, and went to wherever he went to eat homely meals, he said:
"It's so casual, the fellow villagers reminisce about the old days, cheer for the family, talk about their hearts, and feel happy. ”
This is also convenient to listen to the voices of the villagers and understand the real situation, and it will not increase the expenses of the commune and the brigade, which are too large for the masses to afford.
He came to the house of fellow villager Min Yongjin, Min Yongjin's family was overjoyed, and the old general came to his house in person, and they were ready to kill chickens to entertain the arrival of the old general.
When Han Xianchu learned about it, he hurriedly stopped:
"Fellow, don't kill chickens, I don't want to eat anything from your family, but I haven't come back for many years, I miss you",
Han Xianchu knew that the life of the villagers was very difficult, so he continued to hold the hands of the villagers and said:
"These days, you haven't eaten enough, and I'm even more upset in my heart, killing chickens for me to eat, I'm ashamed!"
Han Xianchu's few intimate words also made the distance between the general and the villagers very close all of a sudden, Yongjin's family felt very warm, looking at Han Xianchu, they also had tears in their eyes, saying that they would catch an old hen and kill it, Han Xianchu insisted on letting him go.
He said:
"Keep it, lay a few more eggs, settle a little oil and salt money, so as not to always have a tight hand",
Han Xianchu then became serious, and he asked:
"Let's talk about it, it's been almost 30 years since liberation, why hasn't the life of the villagers changed much, and there is always a lack of oil and salt?"
In the face of Han Xianchu's question, Min Yongjin was also in tears and talked eloquently.......
Later, in the process of visiting the villagers, Han Xianchu learned that the cadres of the brigade and the production team at that time were very worthy, and the masses were resentful, and the attendance was not effective, and the score was very low, and life was very difficult.
Before leaving Hong'an, he also instructed the leaders of the county party committee:
"The cadres of the brigade and the production team should be streamlined, there are too many cadres, and the masses have opinions and cannot afford ......."
Han Xianchu has always been concerned about the lives of the people in his hometown, six years later, in 1981, nearly 70 years old Han Xianchu returned to his hometown again to inspect, but this time he returned to his hometown, he still saw the hard life of the villagers, and his heart was mixed.
He saw that Min Yongjin, a fellow villager who had been there before, was trembling by his brazier because he was wearing too few clothes, Han Xianchu felt very uncomfortable, he said that he took off his military coat and said:
"Put it on, don't talk about it......."
After returning to the county seat, Han Xianchu immediately called the Lanzhou Military Region and asked them to quickly allocate 50,000 old army coats to Hong'an.
To this he muttered to himself:
"I'm really ashamed of my father and fellow villagers......."
In March 1986, Han Xianchu was seriously ill, and in his hospital bed, he was still worried about the construction of his hometown, and he said to his secretary and wife:
"Now is the season of planting trees, you get some cedars, osmanthus and other landscape trees, send them to Hong'an, and ask the comrades of the county party committee to plant them on the streets of Chengguan to beautify the environment. ”
Then with tears in his eyes, he told his wife Liu Zhi:
"Hong'an is afraid that I can't go back, I'm not in good health, so I will entrust you with this wish......."
On October 3, 1986, Han Xianchu passed away, and his ashes were also sent back to the eastern suburbs of Hong'an, the Jute Uprising and the Hubei-Henan-Anhui Martyrs Cemetery.
