Fast Technology reported on April 8 that GAC Research Institute officially announced that GAC Engine Thermal Efficiency has made a major breakthrough again, with the indicated thermal efficiency of a single-cylinder engine exceeding 52.5%, and the effective thermal efficiency of a multi-cylinder engine that can be equipped with a vehicle exceeding 46%, and the technological advancement has reached the world's leading level.

GAC engine thermal efficiency exceeds 46%

Officially, only by using lean combustion technology can the variable index of the working fluid in the cylinder be greatly improved, and the technical limit of the effective thermal efficiency of the engine of 45% can be broken, and the failure to use lean combustion technology is also the fundamental reason why the effective thermal efficiency of the engine has been below 45% for many years.

Lean combustion refers to the combustion mode of dilution with excess air, and the difficulty lies in the fact that excessive dilution of air will reduce the concentration of reactants in the cylinder, resulting in a slowdown in the combustion rate and a decrease in the combustion isocapacity, and will further lead to an increase in uncombustion loss due to the increase of the quenching distance.

In order to solve this technical problem, GAC Powertrain's independent R&D team has optimized the combustion process in the cylinder based on GAC's GCCS patented combustion control technology, combined with turbulent jet ignition technology to improve the ignition energy, ensure the reliable ignition of the lean mixture and the stable expansion of the flame, and realize the in-depth optimization of the combustion process.

As a result, the indicated thermal efficiency of a single-cylinder engine exceeds 52.5%, and the effective thermal efficiency of a multi-cylinder engine that can be equipped with a vehicle exceeds 46%, and it continues to move towards an effective thermal efficiency of 50%.
