In order to meet the travel needs of passengers, the grassland railway will add 6 pairs of cross-regional medium and long-distance passenger trains between Baotou and Shenzhen East, Baotou and Hangzhou, Hohhot and Guangzhou, Hohhot and Yinchuan, and Baotou and Datong during the holidays, and maximize the density of high-speed rail and EMU trains between Hohhot, Baotou and Beijing to a maximum of 43 pairs per day, and reconnect 12 pairs during peak hours.
In order to facilitate short-distance travel for passengers, the railway department has also added 9 pairs of EMU trains, intercity trains and general-speed trains between Hohhot, Baotou, Ordos and Bayannur.
In addition, the grassland railway has also arranged the expansion and addition of some popular trains, increasing the capacity by more than 2,000 seats in a single day to maximize the transportation capacity.
