How about a thousand miles? The breeze blows Landu.
This poem depicts the poet and his younger brother enjoying the bright moon together in Nansai, which triggers a deep longing for his distant friend Cui Shaofu, and through the eternity and change of the moon, it allegorizes the transience of life and the vicissitudes of the world.
The first couplet, "When lying high in Nansai, the curtain is opened and the moon is vomited", which indicates the time and place, and depicts the poet and his younger brother lying on their laurels in Nansai, coinciding with the rising moon, they unveil the curtain and enjoy this beautiful scenery. The "high reclining" here not only depicts the posture, but also hints at the relaxation and detachment of the state of mind.
The jaw couplet "Qinghui freshwater wood, playing in the window", specifically depicts the brightness and softness of the moonlight. The moonlight sprinkled on the water and among the trees, like silver, elegant and quiet, and reflected the swaying ripples in the window, forming a dynamic picture of a moonlit night. Through the delicate depiction of moonlight, these two sentences render the quiet beauty and mysterious atmosphere of the moonlit night.
The neck couplet, "How many is the void and the clearness is changing", the scene in front of us triggers philosophical reflections on time and history. The poet uses the waxing and waning of the moon to symbolize the passage of time, the unstoppable process of the moon, and the bright and clear moonlight to describe the changes of the past and the present. Through the question of the moon, these two sentences express the feeling of the shortness of life and the vicissitudes of the world.
The tail couplet "The beauty of the Qingjiang River is the night more bitter." The breeze blows Landu", the poet turned from the contemplation of the moonlit night to the nostalgia for his distant friend Cui Shaofu. He imagined that Cui Shaofu was on the bank of the Qingjiang River, facing the same bright moon, but he felt lonely because he was far away from home and in another country, chanting all night, full of sorrow. "How is it for a thousand miles?" directly expresses the concern and helplessness about the situation of his friend. Finally, it ends with "The Breeze Blows Landu", and the scene of the orchid Du Ruo gently blowing with the breeze creates a faint sadness and expectation, and also contains the cherishing of friendship and the expectation of the early return of friends.
