Recently, in the orchid museum in the Qionghai Mengxun Flower Sea Wetland Park, alpine rhododendrons are competing to open.
Rhododendron, also known as Yingshan red, is also known as Soma flower in Liangshan, it is recognized as the king of alpine woody flowers in the plant world all over the world, and has the reputation of "Flowers in Xishi".
In Xichang, you don't have to go up to the mountains to enjoy alpine rhododendrons, and since 2020, the Qionghai Wetland has held an alpine rhododendron exhibition every year. This year, sponsored by the Xichang CPPCC, co-organized by the Xichang CPPCC Painting and Calligraphy Institute, Xichang Fenghua Landscaping Engineering Co., Ltd. and Shatu Village, Ma'anshan Township, the 5th Alpine Rhododendron Exhibition came again as scheduled.
Walking into the Orchid Museum, a large number of blooming azaleas come into view, clusters and clusters of azaleas blooming on the branches, and the unique Jiangnan water town style landscape of the Orchid Museum complements each other.
It is understood that these azaleas come from the alpine Soma flower base in Shatu Village, Ma'anshan Township, Xichang City, and the varieties on display include Pink Beauty, Red Pearl, Elegance, Supreme, etc., with a total of about 600 pots.
The flower show will run until April 29 and is free and open to the public. Citizens and tourists can navigate by car or take bus No. 111 to the entrance of the small fishing village scenic spot of Qionghai Mengxun Flower Sea Wetland Park, and walk or rent a sunshine bicycle to ride about 1 km to reach the Orchid Museum.
