The reason why it is rare is that since the 2.14 ship collision incident, the PLA's control over the periphery of the Taiwan Strait has risen to a new level, and military planes and ships have patrolled Taiwan very frequently. Suddenly, after not coming for a few days, some people in the Taiwan authorities really did not feel comfortable.
In this regard, Taiwan's retired general Zhang Yanting quickly gave his own analysis. It is mainly divided into the following aspects: First, from a strategic point of view, the mainland needs to adopt the principle of flexibility, and if military planes are dispatched around Taiwan in a very regular manner, it is very easy for the Taiwan military to find out the law, and it is inappropriate to do so. Therefore, the mainland is now making the Taiwan military unpredictable. Second, from an emotional point of view, a strong earthquake is currently occurring in the Taiwan region, and it is not appropriate for the mainland to dispatch military planes at such a moment.
Zhang Yanting's interpretation is actually not unreasonable, in fact, in my personal opinion, there is a third reason for it. That is, at the juncture of the visit of former Taiwan leader Ma Ying-jeou to the mainland, the mainland is indirectly sending a signal of goodwill to the island by adopting such a method.
However, in the face of the mainland's goodwill, some people on the island obviously did not buy it. This can be seen in a recent incident. The specific situation is like this, the band "Rejuvenation Dan", which was once popular because of the mainland music program "Summer of the Band", was recently invited to perform in Taiwan. According to reports from Taiwanese media "United Daily News" and "Liberty Times", "Rejuvenation Dan" went to Taiwan for the first time this week, and was originally scheduled to hold a special concert in Legacy in Taipei Huashan Cultural and Creative Park on Tuesday (April 2), and went south to Kenting on Thursday (April 4) to participate in the "Taiwan Festival" concert hosted by the Pingtung County Government. Before leaving, the band posted on Weibo and overseas social media, "From Guangxi to Taiwan, China, we will see you in Taipei!"
In fact, in our opinion, there is no problem with this copy at all, and Taiwan's statement is legitimate from that point of view. However, some radicals on the island began to be anxious as if they had been poked in the sore spot. They lashed out at the words "Taiwan, China" and put pressure on the organizers to boycott the "Rejuvenation Pill" from performing in Taiwan. Under the sound of boycott, the "Taiwan Festival" concert held in Kenting in the south cancelled the performance qualification of "Rejuvenation Pill". However, the special concert in Taipei was still held as usual, but there were also unexpected situations at the scene. At that time, after the "Rejuvenation Pill" came to power, many "Taiwan independence" elements protested at the scene with flags with radical slogans, and even surrounded the band members for a time when the band left the stage, and their attitude can be said to be extremely arrogant.
There is no doubt that only those who have the heart of "bringing disaster to Taiwan and opposing China" will have an averse attitude towards the expression of "China's Taiwan." Here's an example. Recently, the Danish Government explicitly changed the place of birth on the residence permit of a Taiwanese to "China," and Wu Zhaoxie, a member of Taiwan's foreign affairs department, soon became unable to sit still and began to call on Denmark to respect the free will of the Taiwan people and to face up to the internationally recognized fact that the two sides of the strait are not subordinate to each other. Obviously, these two things are essentially the same thing, and they are the result of the Taiwan authorities' idea of "seeking independence."
It is not difficult for us to see from these events that since the DPP won the election again and Lai Ching-te has repeatedly made radical remarks about "preparing for war to avoid war," some changes are taking place in the direction of the wind in Taiwan, and this trend is absolutely not optimistic, and it can even be said that there are some dangers. Some pro-green people on the island still do not recognize the status quo and still have unrealistic illusions about the DPP authorities.
What is obvious is that this proves the severity of the current cross-strait situation, and blindly adopting the "soft" means as in the past is absolutely not in line with the actual situation at present, and the goodwill has been released to a certain extent, and sometimes it is necessary to enrich the countermeasures so that some stubborn people can really wake up.
