According to the official information released by SAIC-GM, this car adopts a new generation of PHEV intelligent plug-in hybrid system developed by SAIC-GM Pan Asia Automotive Technology Center.
Among them, the peak power of the front drive motor series covers from 140 kW to 180 kW, while the peak power of the rear drive motor is between 110 kW and 160 kW, with a total system power of up to 467kW and a total system torque of up to 760Nm, which means that the models equipped with this power system have a greater advantage in terms of power output.
At the same time, the electric drive unit in this self-developed new intelligent plug-in hybrid system adopts SAIC-GM's patented oil-cooling scheme, flat wire design and other technologies, with a peak motor efficiency of up to 97.8%, a peak torque density of more than 14.4 Nm/kg, and a power density of 7.8 kW/kg, and a P1 + P3 + P4 motor to achieve a driving experience closer to pure electricity.
As for the endurance part, the official statement is that "the power battery is completely developed based on the standard of the Autonen platform", in which the CLTC cycle life of the plug-in hybrid battery cell is more than 3300 complete cycles, and the battery can effectively suppress thermal runaway at an ambient temperature of 50°C.
In addition, SAIC-GM also emphasized that there will be no obvious attenuation of power under the feeding condition of this power system, and I don't know if there is a more mandatory power protection strategy. And the car brother is also very curious about the specific capacity of its battery, which is also the key factor in whether this new favorite of plug-in hybrid business MPV can be favored by the bosses.
Looking back at the information on other aspects of the model, the style of the new car is very similar to that of the Buick Century, with a split headlight group and a large-mouth grille design, and a larger window is also used at the side rear to ensure a better view of the rear passengers, with a spoiler at the rear and a figure-7 taillight group design, the overall sense of luxury is very good.
In terms of interior, the new car will adopt Buick's latest family-style design language, and the through-type double-curved screen is still not absent. At the same time, the center armrest is expected to support forward and backward movement, and the electric seat adjustment button has been moved to the door panel, which increases the practicality and luxury of the car, while the design of the rear table and the inner armrest of the seat can provide passengers with a more comfortable riding experience.
It is worth mentioning that the GL8 PHEV and the upcoming Chevrolet Explorer Plus will constitute the starting lineup of SAIC-GM entering the plug-in hybrid 2.0 era, but in fact, their reserves in hybrid technology have always been online.
Starting from the Cadillac Escalade dual-mode hybrid in 2006, SAIC launched the extended-range hybrid Volanda in 2010, but the pure electric range was only 85 km, and the price of pure import status was nearly 500,000 yuan, which was not recognized by the market at that time, and later launched the VELITE 5, as well as the mild hybrid versions of the E-CVT Regal and LaCrosse.
