A few days ago, FAW Toyota unveiled the interior design of the new Toyota Prado made domestic production for the first time, and the overall layout of the instrument panel is basically the same as that of the overseas version of the model, and it is reported that the interior of the actual car is expected to be displayed during the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, which opens on April 25. As FAW Toyota's latest work, the domestic all-new Toyota Prado has opened reservations on February 29, providing consumers with four levels of UN, ALR, ADV, LUX HI to choose from, covering different market segments such as off-road, personalized, fashionable, and high-end, with a reservation price range of 470,000-570,000 yuan.
Judging from the interior pictures released this time, the instrument panel of the new Toyota Prado made in China adopts a black design and is covered with a large area of slush molding material, which does not have much sense of grade and fashion atmosphere. On this basis, the new Toyota Prado is equipped with a circular multi-function steering wheel with integrated physical buttons, and some physical buttons are set up in the lower area of the center control screen and around the gear knob to ensure reliability and convenience.
The central control screen of the new Toyota Prado is integrated with the LCD dashboard frame to create a dual-screen visual effect, in which the car machine system has been localized and adapted, supporting WeChat, Apple CarPlay, Huawei HiCar, Baidu CarLife and other functions. In addition, the all-new Toyota Prado in China offers perforated leather seats, seat heating/ventilation, heated steering wheel, panoramic view, etc., as for more equipment information to be further announced.
In terms of appearance, the front face of the all-new Toyota Prado in China looks quite square, and the use of hard lines outlines the angular silhouette features. On this basis, the all-new Toyota Prado is equipped with wide and rugged bumper trims, and supports the adaptation of round style headlight clusters and rectangular style headlight clusters.
The new Toyota Prado adopts a body shape design similar to the "square box", and the design and arrangement of the body lines are close to the new Lexus GX on the same platform, with expanded wheel arches and side steps and other equipment, and the temperament of a hard-core SUV has been intuitively presented. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new Toyota Prado are 4920/1980/1860 mm (excluding the external spare tire), the wheelbase is 2850 mm, the maximum approach angle and departure angle are 31 degrees and 22 degrees respectively, and the ground clearance can reach 221 mm.
Based on the TNGA-F platform, the all-new Toyota Prado will be equipped with a diesel-electric hybrid system consisting of a 2.4T engine and an electric motor, with a combined maximum power of 243 kilowatts (330 horsepower) and a combined maximum torque of 630 Nm, and the transmission part will be matched with a Direct Shift-8AT transmission. In addition, the all-new Toyota Prado adopts a full-time four-wheel drive system with Torsen limited-slip central differential, equipped with an electronically controlled mechanical rear axle differential lock, with high-speed and low-speed four-wheel drive, which can amplify torque, and multi-terrain control and creep mode will not be absent.
As a representative hard-core SUV under Toyota, Toyota Prado was first introduced into China by FAW Toyota in 2003, and has accumulated a good reputation and audience base in the domestic hard-core off-road field.
