On the evening of April 2, FAW Toyota released the interior map of the domestically produced Prado for the first time. Judging from the official picture, the interior of the domestic Prado mostly adopts a horizontal and vertical design, and the overall visual effect is very tough.
The new car retains the retro charm while incorporating popular design elements, with a 12.3-inch (8-inch entry-level version) center console in the center console, which integrates Toyota's latest entertainment system.
It is a little different from the design of the dual screen in the same plane, which is widely popular in China, and although the design of the full LCD instrument panel and the central control screen is in the same frame, the two screens are not on the same plane.
Multimedia systems and driver assistance systems are not the strong points of Japanese cars, and the all-new Prado is not outstanding compared to its competitors in the same class, but it is also completely refreshed compared to the previous model.
Pre-orders for the all-new Prado have been opened on February 29, with a pre-order price of 470,000-570,000 yuan.
For reference, the prices of the three models of the all-new Prado in North America are 57,000, 63,000 and 76,000 US dollars, respectively, equivalent to 410,000, 450,000 and 550,000 yuan. The domestic Prado is indeed a bit expensive.
The new car is built on the all-new TNGA-F platform, which is the same as the Lexus GX, and features a non-load-bearing body design.
According to the official data revealed by FAW Toyota, one hour after the online reservation was opened, the new generation of Prado received more than 5,000 orders. It can be seen that the charm of Prado has not diminished back then.
Even if there are models with stronger power, configuration and off-road ability such as Tank 700, Tank 500 and Formula Leopard 5 in China, Prado is still in demand for booking.
According to the previously announced news, the new domestic Prado will be opened at the Beijing Auto Show on April 25 and officially launched on July 16.
As a new generation model, the new Prado has changed its previous style and launched a main retro round light front face and a more fashionable square light front face.
The car has a length, width and height of 4920mm/1980mm/1860mm, a wheelbase of 2850mm, and two seat options: 5 and 6 seats.
The domestic version will be equipped with a hybrid system consisting of a 2.4-liter turbocharged engine and an electric motor, with a combined maximum power of 243 kW (330 hp) and a maximum torque of 630 Nm, mated to an 8-speed automatic manual transmission.
As a hard-core off-road vehicle, the all-new domestic Prado also offers a lot of off-road configurations, including two differential locks in the middle and rear, high/low-speed four-wheel drive, multi-terrain control, creep mode and so on.

Today, the sales of Japanese cars have declined severely, and the income of dealers has declined. As FAW Toyota's most important model in 2024, the all-new Prado needs to save its declining dealer network with high profitability.
When the treasure is fully pressed on the all-new Prado, the annual standard production capacity is less than 50,000 units, and the actual production in 2024 is even lower.
When the domestic FAW Toyota Prado opened the pre-sale, the official made it clear that "the transaction price is subject to negotiation with dealers", which almost made the "price increase" clearly written on the face.
