Basic information of the event
The 2024 Suzhou East Taihu Lake Half Marathon will start at 8 o'clock on April 6, when 15,000 participants will gather on the shore of East Taihu Lake to run hot.
The race consists of two events: a half marathon and a 4.5km mini run, which lasts about 4 hours.
According to the statistics of the organizers, a total of 15,000 people signed up for this event, plus the people who spontaneously came to watch along the line, it is expected that the number of people at the entire event site will be about 20,000 to 30,000.

Starting point: the south entrance of Suzhou Bay Experimental Primary School;
Finish: South Entrance of Suzhou Bay Experimental Primary School (half marathon finish), Suzhou Wujiang Aegean Shopping Center (mini run finish).

Mini Run: Suzhou Bay Experimental Primary School South Gate (starting point), → Kaiping Road (north half), Kaiping Road (north half→), Kaiping Road-Yingshan Street intersection turnback→ Kaiping Road (south half→), Suzhou Bay Avenue (west half), → East Taihu Avenue (north half), → Xiarong Street (east half), → Wujiang Aegean Sea (end point), with a total length of 4.5 kilometers.
Temporary traffic management measures
01 Track closure
Closed roads on the side of the track: Gaoxin Road (Lakeview Street-Fengqing Street), Fengqing Street (Gaoxin Road-Kaiping Road), Lakeview Street (Gaoxin Road-East Taihu Avenue), S230 (Kaiping Road-East Taihu Avenue), East Taihu Avenue (S230-Xiarong Street), Xiarong Street (East Taihu Avenue-Aegean Branch Road)
Full road closure: Taihu Lake Embankment, Yingbin Avenue, Yuxia Road, Kaiping Road (starting point - Hujing Street), Zhongxiu Road (Pangyang Road - Pingbo Road), Caogeng Road (Pingbo Road - Taihu Lake Embankment)
All roads (half-width or full-width) involving the track are closed to vehicles (including on-street parking spaces).
02 Implementation time of temporary traffic management measures
Starting and ending roads: Due to the needs of race preparations, Kaiping Road (Chunlan Street-Xiarong Street Section) will be closed at 17:00 on the 5th and unsealed at 14:30 on the 6th, and Xiarong Street (East Taihu Avenue-Sixin Road) and Kaiping Road (Xiarong Street-Qiufeng Street Section) will be closed at 23:00 on the 5th and unsealed at 14:30 on the 6th. (The unblocking time depends on the actual situation)
From 5 o'clock on April 6, all competition roads will implement the temporary traffic control measures of "rolling closure and sectional lifting", and it is expected that the closure of all road sections will be lifted at 14:30 on April 6, and the specific closure time is shown in the figure below:
The above control time is the estimated time, which is subject to the actual control time. The measures prohibiting and restricting traffic on roads not listed in this reminder shall be implemented according to the traffic signs and markings set up on the roads.
Parking & Shuttle Management
(1) Advocate green travel, mainly by bus and subway;
(2) Citizens and participants can park their vehicles in the P+R parking lot of Wujiang City District Station of Metro Line 4 and take Metro Line 4 to Suzhou Bay East Station.
(3) The vehicle can be parked in the underground parking garage of Triumph Plaza, the underground parking lot of Songling No. 1 Middle School, and the parking lot of Xinhu Square.
Detour around the affected area during the event
Due to the needs of the preparation for the event, some intersections of Gaoxin Road, Kaiping Road, East Taihu Avenue and other roads were closed, and in order to ensure the smooth flow of the roads, vehicles were instructed to detour from the five main roads on the periphery on the day of the competition.
(1) Vehicles driving from the west to the east of Kaiping Road and Gaoxin Road should detour from East Taihu Avenue and Tiyu Road;
(2) Vehicles driving from the east to the west of Kaiping Road and Gaoxin Road should detour from Tiyu Road, Kasawa Road and other roads;
(3) For vehicles driving on Suzhou Bay Avenue, please detour from the S230 tunnel;
(4) Vehicles driving on Xiarong Street and Qiufeng Street should detour from Dongmei Street, Songling Avenue and other roads.
Emphasis added
1. Citizens in the track area should pay attention to the relevant road closure period in advance and choose the travel time and mode to avoid inconvenience.
2. It is expected that from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on April 6, the relevant roads of the event will be lifted and closed gradually.
3. Residents around the event should choose to take rail transit as much as possible if they choose to travel by bus, and if they choose to travel by bus, they need to pay attention to the bus route adjustment information announcement of Wujiang District Transportation Bureau in advance.
4. During the event, all roads (half width or full width) involving the track are prohibited from parking (including on-street parking spaces).
5. Vehicles and pedestrians passing through the intersections of the event area should obey the guidance and command of the traffic police and staff on duty, and non-participants are not allowed to enter the track.
