The largest international organization on the planet is called the United Nations, with 195 independent states.

In September 2023, the second largest international organization mechanism on the planet held its first summit, the name of the organization is called the Group of 77 and China.

The second largest international organization mechanism on the planet is not the G77, and the G77 and China do not mean a huge organization called the G77 and the story of China, but the name of this international organization mechanism is "G77 and China".

The name of the United Nations is very formal at first glance, and the name of the Group of 77 is also very legitimate, but the name of the Group of 77 and China does not look so formal, and at first glance it does not look like the official name of a large international organization.

And the number of members of the Group of 77 and China is not 77 + 1 = 78, but 134 + 1 = 135, and the number and name do not match.

There is a reason why such a strange name is formed.

Founded in 1964 and indeed 77 countries at the beginning, the Group of 77 is an intergovernmental international organization composed of developing countries, whose main purpose is to strengthen solidarity and cooperation among developing countries for the promotion of each other's economic development.

No matter how you look at it, the purpose of this organization is tailor-made for China, and it is also a developing country and strengthens cooperation for economic development, which is perfectly in line with the national policy of the mainland.

Therefore, from the very beginning of its establishment, the Group of 77 has strongly invited China to join.

However, the mainland did not choose to join the G77, because with China's size, even in 1964, if it went to the G77, it would definitely be the head, and the mainland's original national policy was to "not be the head", so as not to attract hostility and suppression from the United States and the Soviet Union at the same time.

That is why the head of the Group of 77 is India, which for many years has also considered itself a leader of developing countries.

Mexico, New Zealand, and South Korea were among the first members of the Group of 77 when it was founded in 1964, but they all withdrew from the organization under pressure from the United States, because the existence of this organization was clearly a threat to the ruling authority of the United States.

Whoever is the head of the G-77 will be suppressed by the United States with all its might, and even the Soviet Union will easily press it, but because of India's own strength and system, the United States and the Soviet Union chose to ignore India at the same time and tacitly let India manage the G-77.

However, the G-77 is an organization for developing countries to help each other, and China is the largest and strongest developing country in the world.

Even if you don't join, let's talk about it and see if there is anything we can work with.

But China didn't agree either, until the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, when America's biggest threat disappeared, and China was a little unable to hide.

In 1991, China and the Group of 77 jointly submitted a position paper for the first time under the signature of "Group of 77 and China" at the preparatory meeting for the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development, laying the foundation for the establishment of the "Group of 77 and China" mutual assistance mechanism.

But it was just a temptation and didn't do much.

The second appearance of the term "Group of 77 and China" was in 2000, when China participated in the South Summit of the Group of 77 and the name of the meeting was changed to "Group of 77 and China" because of its participation.

But then nothing happened, and everyone was just ordinary friends.

China has never been a member of the Group of 77, and to this day the Group of 77 and China cannot be called an organization, but can only be called an organizational mechanism.

In 2014, the Group of 77 also held a summit to commemorate its 50th anniversary, which made it clear that the Group of 77 is a full organization name, and the Group of 77 and China are just a name for the organization mechanism.

That's why it's called so strange.

After the U.S. trade war, China didn't give up on reconciling with the U.S. for the first few years.

However, during the 2021 Sino-US talks in Alaska, the arrogant United States completely angered China, and the mainland made a voice to the world, saying: "The United States is not qualified to say in front of China that you are talking to China from a position of strength", this news was announced to the world by the mainland's central media.

It's okay to say anything behind closed doors, but as a country to advertise to the world, the nature is different, and since 2021, China has been unable to keep its head down, because its body is too large to hide at all.

Decades ago, the mainland set a national policy of not being the head of a developing country, and this national policy was in line with the national conditions at that time, but it is no longer in line with the current national conditions of the mainland, because even if it is not the head of a developing country, it cannot avoid being targeted by the United States.

On October 12, 2022, the Ecuadorian International News Agency published an article titled "China, a threat to some, but a hope for others", which read:

Some Western countries would rather maintain a world order that favours them in order to slow global warming, but the real solution is the sustainable development of the entire planet, rather than the continued consumption of a few and the poverty of many. In order to carry out global planning without destroying the planet, it is necessary to establish a global governance system without hegemony and realize the democratization of international relations. This is what many countries that are currently marginalized in global decision-making have been demanding, and it is China that is the only major country that supports this vision today.

When the Group of 77 (now 134 members) was established in 1964, it was hoped that the United Nations would be effective in promoting the progress of developing and underdeveloped countries; In this case, China plays a weighty role as a "big brother" and promotes fair development with greater strength. 

This kind of voice makes Europe and the United States unable to sit still.

In November 2022, German Foreign Minister Baerbock gave a speech at the Süddeutsche Zeitung's "European Economic Night" event, saying that "wealthy G77 members" such as China and Saudi Arabia were pressuring other countries to grab absolute benefits.

The mainland's diplomatic spokesman refuted this, because the mainland is not a member of the G77 at all, and there is no such thing as oppressing and exploiting developing countries to grab benefits like European and American countries.

However, since a group of developing countries want China to be the leader and lead them to resist the oppression and exploitation of the developed countries, and Europe and the United States regard this as a fait accompli, we in China really need to take the route of encircling the cities from the countryside and draw all the victims of the current American order to our side.

Then, it is better to be respectful than to obey fate.

In September 2023, the G77 and China held the Havana Summit, which directly turned the summit into an anti-American conference, and then completely changed the name of "G77 and China" from a consultation mechanism to the name of an organizational mechanism.

At this summit, the G77 and China announced the "Havana Declaration", emphasizing the friendly and cooperative relations between the "G77" and China, and at the same time announced 46 articles, saying many things that the United States does not like to hear:

Article 4, "The major challenges posed to developing countries by the current inequitable international economic order have now reached their greatest proportions. ”

Article 8 strongly opposes "the imposition of laws and regulations and all other forms of coercive economic measures with extraterritorial effects, including unilateral sanctions against developing countries, and reiterates the urgent need for the immediate elimination of such measures." ”

Article 10, which clearly states that "we oppose unfair practices that hinder the technological development of developing countries, such as technology monopolies" 

These words are basically pointing at the nose of the United States and scolding, and in the eyes of the United States, this is an attempt to "change the rules of the game".

The G-77 and China also invited Mexico to rejoin the group, prying it directly into the U.S. doorstep, and inviting Syrian representatives to the stage to accuse the United States of its crimes.

After the Syrian representative took the stage and finished speaking, he invited a large group of countries that had been ravaged by the United States to speak on stage, and turned the Havana summit into an anti-American grievance rally, after all, there are really not many developing countries in the world that have not been bullied by the United States.

Finally, Havana is the name of the capital of Cuba, and the reason why the summit is called Havana Summit is because the host country is Cuba, one of the most anti-American countries, and in the backyard of the United States in Latin America.

In 2023, China chose to hold the G77-China summit in Cuba, and this is for the United States.

It is clear that this summit was driven by China, and in fact became the head of the G77, and the whole summit was also centered around China, and India, as the leader of the G77 for a long time, was very unhappy about this.

As a result, India, as a member of the Group of 77 and a long-time leader, refused to participate in the meeting.

For a long time, India has regarded itself as a great power and a leader of developing countries, and it has even regarded the G-77 as its own reserve, and it cannot bear the feeling of being a supporting role, and it is understandable that it will withdraw from the Havana summit.

But this withdrawal, which appears to preserve India's dignity, is in fact a sign of weakness to the other 133 members of the G77.

It doesn't matter if you don't plan to be the leader, but if you still plan to be the leader, then it will definitely not work, and India's withdrawal is tantamount to ceding the leadership of the G77 to China.

Of course, this is nothing for India, because for a long time it has not been good for India to be the leader of the G77, and the entire 134 members of the G77 are all poor boys, and the rich countries are all on the side of the United States.

For a long time, the international rule is that you can only get rich if you revolve around the United States, and you are not allowed to get rich if you don't revolve around the United States.

So being the leader of the G77 is not in the slightest benefit for India, and it is the same for China in the past, so for a long time China did not join the G77 at all.

But the situation is different today, India today still doesn't need the G77, but China does.

Strengthening the G77 and China from a consultative mechanism to an organizational mechanism is a complement to the Belt and Road Initiative and an amplified version of the rural encirclement of the city.

There is no shortage of industrial products in developed countries, and in the past, China's low-grade industrial products could be sold to developed countries only because they did not want to sweatshop to make these things, not that they could not make them.

But developing countries are really short of industrial products, the kind of shortage that they can't create on their own, and they are rich in natural resources.

Exchanging our industrial products for the resources of developing countries is a good thing for mutual benefit and win-win, and it is also the root cause of peaceful rise.

The only difficulty is infrastructure capacity, because turning the natural resources of developing countries into usable industrial resources requires strong infrastructure capacity, otherwise so many natural resources can only be put in mountain nests and cannot be transported.

But China's most powerful infrastructure capacity is also in China's hands, and if a natural resource cannot even be developed by China, then no one can develop it.

With the support of the 134 developing countries in the Group of 77, they would be able to form their own industrial cycles without being subject to the economic rules set by Europe and the United States.

If the economic circulation system of Europe and the United States loses this large piece, it will not be destroyed, but the scale will definitely be greatly reduced, and many high-investment scientific and technological research and development with extremely high requirements for market scale will be unsustainable.

In the past, too many countries dared to be angry with the United States because there was no big brother who could take the lead to support it, but now with China, this large group of countries can unite to fight back against the bullies in order to pursue their own development.

There is much help for the righteous, but little help for the unjust.

The United States bullies everywhere in the world, but China has taken the initiative to build a community with a shared future for mankind with poor and weak countries, and the poorer it is, the more willing it is to cooperate.

Ever since the Obama administration shouted the slogan of "returning to the Asia-Pacific," the United States has been bent on encircling China politically, diplomatically, economically, and technologically, and has tried to present itself as the "international community" at every turn.

But in fact, the United Nations is only 195 countries, and the G77 and China are already 134+1.

It is clear who represents the international community, and what the Group of 77 and China said in the Havana Declaration is also very clear in black and white.

If it was possible to sit firmly in the world by simply bullying the poor and uniting the landlords, it should have been the Nationalist Government that won the world back then, but in fact it was New China that won the world.

The process of our nation-winning process is enough to prove that the road of encircling the cities from the countryside is feasible, and that the power of uniting the poor countries is far greater than that of the developed countries.
