Recently, the weather in Hunan is changeable, and there are often pregnant mothers who come to the doctor because of fever and cough, and many of them are flu after examination, mainly due to the poor resistance of pregnant women, who are generally susceptible to influenza and are high-risk groups for influenza. Doctors from the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Gynecology of Hunan Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine will tell you how to correctly understand and prevent influenza!

flu
1. High fever is mainly 39-40 °C, which can be accompanied by chills
2. Fatigue, muscle aches, cough, sore throat, etc
3. It is highly contagious
4. Rapid onset
How can I prevent the flu?
(1) Maintain good personal hygiene habits and wash hands frequently;
(2) Balanced nutrition, appropriate exercise, and enhanced resistance;
(3) Keep the environment clean and ventilated;
(4) Minimize activities in crowded places and avoid contact with patients with respiratory tract infections;
(5) Influenza vaccination.
Does influenza infection in pregnant women affect the fetus?
The effects of influenza in pregnancy on the fetus need to be further studied. Mild cases of influenza generally do not affect the fetus very much, but there have been reports suggesting that gestational influenza increases the risk of spontaneous abortion, preterm birth, stillbirth, small-for-gestational-age infants, and low birth weight.
How is it treated?
Pregnant women with suspected or confirmed influenza should be treated with antiviral therapy as soon as possible. At present, the clinical drug of choice is oseltamivir, followed by zanamivir and peramivir. The above-mentioned antiviral drugs are classified as class C drugs in pregnancy, and no serious adverse reactions have been found to be in pregnant women and fetuses.
Traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions such as clearing heat and detoxifying, dispelling wind and relieving the surface also have a good therapeutic effect on colds and fevers, and acupuncture and moxibustion treatment also have very obvious effects on fever, sore throat and suppuration, which are both safe and effective.
If a pregnant mother has fever, cough and other symptoms at home, she must seek medical attention in time, take medication under the guidance of a doctor, and do not abuse antibiotics by herself!
