At about 15 o'clock on April 10, 2023, a forest fire broke out in Banmin Village, Hainan Street, Xichang City, Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan, with an area of more than 3 hectares of burned woodland, causing a total of 28.446 million yuan in forest ecological value loss and other losses.
After investigation, three villagers, including Ji Ci, went to the forest area for maintenance because of the small water flow of the water pipe in their home. Halfway through, the trio discovered two aging water leaks in a certain area. Yoshiji used his own lighter to burn the water hose to connect, and the burning hose dripped and ignited the pine grass on the ground.
Ji Ji immediately broke off the purple stem Zelan next to him to extinguish the fire, and the other two immediately participated in the fire extinguishing, but due to the strong wind, the fire spread rapidly and could not be controlled, and the three fled the scene and returned home. 10 hours after the incident, Ji Ci was arrested and brought to justice. On September 24, 2023, the Xichang Municipal People's Court found that Ji Ci's behavior constituted the crime of fire and sentenced him to 4 years in prison.
