Apple iPhone 16 Pro case exposed: Accessories manufacturers have laid out the "camera button" in advance

IT Home reported on March 26 that according to the pictures shared by netizen Sonny Dickson today, at least one accessory manufacturer has prepared for the rumored "photo button" of iPhone 16.

Dickson showed off a third-party iPhone 16 Pro case with a reserved slot under the power button on the right side, which is exactly where the rumored "photo button" is. It's unclear whether the accessory maker is aware of the new feature or if it's just a rumored layout.

MacRumors was the first to reveal that Apple plans to include a "camera button" in all iPhone 16 models to be released later this year, which will provide quick control over the ability to take photos and videos. Specifically, users can swipe the buttons left and right to zoom in, tap to focus, and press firmly to start recording.

The touch design of the "camera button" and the layout that is flush with the body explain why the case needs to be slotted for a place instead of covering it.

IT Home noted that the new button will be located on the top edge of the iPhone 16 model when shooting video in landscape orientation, providing users with an easy-to-reach shutter button, which is more convenient to operate than the current model, which relies on the volume button.

It is worth mentioning that due to the addition of the "shoot button", the mmWave 5G antenna cutout of the US version of the iPhone 16 needs to be moved to the bottom left side of the fuselage, which is located below the volume button. Models in other regions only support the sub-6 GHz band since iPhone 12, so there is no such antenna opening.

Apple is expected to release a new iPhone 16 series in September.
