According to Fan Dayong, chief of the static traffic section of the Haidian District Urban Management Committee (Transportation Committee), through the mapping and sorting of the parking resources around Yuyuantan Park, it was found that there was no parking lot in the park, and during the large passenger flow, the parking resources around the park were also stretched. Visitors can walk to 6 parking lots around Yuyuantan Park, with a total of 1,135 parking spaces. However, due to the dense surrounding shopping malls and office areas, the utilization rate of these parking spaces is already very high on weekdays, and it is estimated that the number of parking spaces that can be provided for tourists during the cherry blossom cultural event is only about 500, which is far from meeting the needs of self-driving tourists.
In order to alleviate this parking supply and demand problem, the Haidian District Urban Management Committee (Transportation Committee) opened a remote parking shuttle service for the first time during this year's cherry blossom cultural event, guiding tourists to park their vehicles in the Wukesong underground parking lot through parking diversion.
According to the results of the preliminary survey, the parking lot is about 5 kilometers away from the west gate of Yuyuantan Park, and it is expected that 1,000 parking spaces will be vacant during the holidays, and the single-line drive time is about 15 minutes under non-congestion conditions. In this way, after parking at the remote end, the shuttle bus will go to the park in a unified manner, which can effectively disperse the parking pressure around the park, and also provide a relatively convenient parking option for tourists. Fan Dayong said.
According to reports, in order to ensure that tourists can easily reach the park from the parking point, it is planned to arrange five buses as a "cherry blossom viewing shuttle line", which will depart every 15 minutes. If there is a large flow of people, vehicles will be added at any time according to the actual situation to meet the needs of tourists. The pick-up and drop-off points of the shuttle bus will be set up on the south side of the CCTV Tower on the West Third Ring Road and Wukesong South Square, and at the same time, alternate drop-off points will be set up in the Gongzhufen business district and No. 26 Fucheng Road to facilitate tourists to get off at different locations.

"The shuttle bus will start from Wukesong, pass through the West Fourth Ring Road, Fucheng Road, West Third Ring Road, Fuxing Road, and finally return to Wukesong, forming a closed-loop connection route. Fan Dayong said that such a route design will minimize the impact on the surrounding road traffic, and also provide tourists with fast and convenient travel services.
In order to ensure the safety and comfort of tourists, the Haidian District Urban Management Committee (Transportation Committee) organized the Smart Mobility Company to strengthen the management and maintenance of the "cherry blossom viewing shuttle line" to ensure the cleanliness and safety of vehicles. At the same time, obvious indication signs are set up at each boarding and alighting point, and professional staff are equipped to provide on-site guidance and assistance to ensure that tourists can quickly and accurately find shuttle buses and parking spaces.
