In essence, there are only two core advantages of fuel vehicles for new energy vehicles, one is fast energy replenishment, that is, refueling is much faster than charging, and the other is lightweight. Now what we call new energy vehicles are basically electric drive models with power batteries as the power core, so there is no way for new energy vehicles to be lightweight with the existence of battery packs. In addition, compared with fuel vehicles at the same price, new energy vehicles are basically more accelerating, cheaper, and more intelligent.

However, with the development of technology and the expansion of product types, the energy supplement advantage of fuel vehicles is or has been dismantled. In the field of pure electric vehicles, 800V high-voltage fast charging, BYD and other manufacturers have launched dual-gun fast charging, which has greatly promoted the charging efficiency of electric vehicles, so that the charging efficiency of electric vehicles has been greatly improved. Although it is not as fast as refueling a fuel vehicle, it is indeed more cost-effective to spend a little more time charging from the perspective of time cost and cost.

For extended-range electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid models, in addition to charging, they can also be refueled and replenished, which is also the core slot of many small partners questioning these two types of products "not enough new energy", that is, they also need to refuel, what kind of new energy is it? But the problem is that many of these plug-in hybrid and extended range electric models, a tank of oil can exceed 1000 kilometers of endurance, and the performance of these models at the level of intelligent cockpit and high-end intelligent driving is not the same level as fuel vehicles. So again, in terms of comprehensive comparison, the energy supplement advantage of fuel vehicles is no longer obvious, and the higher the oil price, the less obvious the advantage.

The last irreplaceable advantage left is lightweight, I have to say that this advantage, not only at present, but also in the next many years, is one of the core advantages of fuel vehicles for new energy vehicles.

But the question is, does the lightweight of vehicles have anything to do with our ordinary consumers? The answer is that the lightweight design of vehicles has nothing to do with 99% of car users. The reason is very simple, only the pursuit of extreme speed and extreme energy consumption of vehicles, will pursue lightweight, such as some supercars, or vehicles that need to run the track, for the advantage of a few tenths of a second, many components are lightweight, such as replacing steel parts with aluminum alloy or even carbon fiber parts, canceling some unnecessary parts and so on.

However, for our ordinary users, the lightweight advantage of fuel vehicles is of little significance in essence, and the reason is very simple, that is, the cost of lightweight is very high without reducing the configuration. Therefore, for manufacturers, it is obviously not cost-effective to increase costs and prices through the lightweight of some components in exchange for not obvious acceleration advantages and energy consumption advantages, and then reduce competitiveness.

For new energy vehicles, although they cannot be compared with fuel vehicles in terms of weight reduction, new energy vehicles can easily make fast acceleration time and lower energy replenishment costs with the blessing of batteries and motors. Nowadays, many new energy vehicles below 300,000 can achieve acceleration of 100 kilometers within 4 seconds, and with the blessing of simple and crude electric drive and power battery, it seems that there is no need to lightweight to achieve faster acceleration and lower energy consumption.

Therefore, in our opinion, with the safety performance of new energy vehicles becoming more and more obvious, coupled with the continuous development of ultra-fast charging, the current fuel vehicles, compared with new energy vehicles, have no obvious core advantages, on the contrary, the decline is becoming more and more obvious. In fact, this is the general trend, and it is only a matter of time for new energy vehicles to replace fuel vehicles.
