Affected by multiple reasons, the box office of "Mr. Red Carpet" was not ideal. According to the data of Maoyan Professional Edition, the cumulative box office of the film in 8 days of release was 82.21 million, accounting for only 0.5% of the scheduled box office and 1.3% of the scheduled films.
This year's Spring Festival stalls are fiercely competitive, judging from the box office in the first seven days, the first four films firmly occupy more than ninety percent of the box office during the period. After the release of "Mr. Red Carpet", it slipped from fifth to sixth place, lower than "Hot and Hot", "Flying Life 2", "Bear Infested", "Article 20" and "Let's Shake the Sun Together" and other films of the same schedule.
The 2023 semi-annual report of Huanxi Media, the main producer of "Mr. Red Carpet", disclosed that the total production cost of the film is 260 million yuan, and Ning Hao's director fee is 30 million Hong Kong dollars, which is included in the total filming cost. Considering follow-up expenses such as marketing expenses and theatrical box office sharing, the box office of "Mr. Red Carpet" is still far from achieving a return on investment.
Previously, "Let's Shake the Sun Together" also announced its withdrawal from the Spring Festival file.
According to the data of Lighthouse Professional Edition, as of 22:53 on February 16, the total box office (including pre-sale) of the 2024 Spring Festival stalls (February 10-February 17) has exceeded 7.6 billion.
