The UK says the Royal Marines recently unveiled a new Commando Boat (CRC) in the face of the evolving threat of the war in Ukraine.
The greater use of unmanned surveillance systems, long-range precision weapons and secure communications is expected to be at the heart of the force.
The British Ministry of Defense said that the CRCs, which had been deployed in the Mediterranean operation, were upgraded to "meet the needs of the commandos in the mid-21st century."
The CRC is painted from olive green to gray to help hide, it also comes with new engines, a range of more than 200 nautical miles, a speed of 40 knots, and a steering position that has been moved from the rear to the front of the boat to improve maneuverability.
Equipped with a crew of three, it can be rotated on long treks. If needed, it can also store a smaller near-shore assault craft for landing.
The commander of the unit, Colonel William Norcott, said: "The CRC is multifunctional and more supportive of the offensive mode of the commandos, working in a small dispersed form and designed to deliver lethal strikes. ”
British netizens said that they were not optimistic about the boat, saying that it was too far from the first-class level.
