The site of the Dongshantou incident is located in Dongshantou Natural Village, Xitou Village, Lingjingdian Township, Yangqu County, covering an area of 380 square meters. On March 25, 1948, the 3rd District Committee of Dongyangqu County held an enlarged meeting of the District Committee in Dongshantou Village, which was attended by more than 130 cadres of county-level organs, all cadres of the 3rd District, heads of natural villages, heads of poor peasant regiments, militia cadres, and women cadres.
The task of the conference was to convey the situation of the national liberation war and to mobilize the masses to wage a struggle against the enemy in order to consolidate and expand the results of victory. On March 28, after the meeting, because it was getting late, the county and district cadres were still scattered to live in the homes of ordinary people. Because the lawbreakers who were liquidated and struggled in the land reform tried to retaliate, they reported the news of the enlarged meeting of the district party committee held in Dongshantou to the Yan army stationed in Donghuangshui, and the county and district cadres were surrounded by more than 1,000 Yan troops. Tian Xi, secretary of the district party committee, Li Erqidan, head of the district, Li Yulian, captain of the martial arts team, and other comrades attending the meeting formed combat groups in their settlements and fought fiercely against the enemy. In the Dongshantou incident, 26 cadres and people in Dongyangqu County were killed and 78 arrested. There are 2 existing caves in the No. 24 courtyard of Dongshantou Village, which was the residence of the participating cadres at that time, and its courtyard was one of the meeting places at that time. About 30 meters southwest of the courtyard, there was a well, and six of the cadres and soldiers who died at that time were killed by the enemy and thrown into the well.
