January 16, 2024 is a special day for the start of the overall demolition of the original Dong Nitrogen Plant exactly 50 years after its construction. On this day, old leaders, retired employees and their families who have worked here are invited to come to say goodbye or take pictures. Unfortunately, I was unable to come on this day. Although the whole thing will be demolished and moved, some of the past stories of the cave nitrogen will not die out of my mind because of the demolition.
1. Cave nitrogen construction site
I have worked for many years, and the full set of equipment was introduced by the United States and the Netherlands in the early 70s of the last century. Between 1977 and 1979, when I was in the countryside, I was sent to work as a small laborer at a construction site to generate income for the production team. The main job is to give the welder master a hand. Polishing the groove on the side of the high-pressure pipeline mouth imported from Japan, and then aligning the pipe mouth to create conditions for the welder master welder. At that time, I was only 15 or 6 years old, and I didn't know how hard it was.
In the process of building the factory, the factory has received nearly 60 foreign technicians from 9 countries and regions. In the construction of cave nitrogen, there are hundreds of units working at the same time, and tens of thousands of employees are fighting side by side. Among them, there are large central enterprises, the former "Fourth Chemical Construction Company of the Ministry of Chemical Industry" as a backbone enterprise for installation and construction.
In the process of cooperation with foreign experts, the construction unit does not blindly follow and does not feel inferior. As long as it's right, we stick to it. For example, when Sihua Construction Company lifts and installs several large equipment such as synthetic ammonia towers, absorption towers, regeneration towers and granulation weighing several hundreds of tons, it needs to operate in the air, intersperse it into a fixed frame, and adopt the lifting method of "single rod" as a whole. Because when lifting heavy equipment abroad, "double rods" and more advanced lifting methods are generally used, so I don't believe that it can be lifted successfully. And he said, "If I succeed, my 5-year-old child can go to university." In the process of lifting, due to the load-bearing boom made a "squeak" sound, there may be a risk of breaking at any time, at this time, the lifting engineer of the four chemical construction company Guangdong master Ning Hai'an regardless of personal safety, reported the belief of winning glory for the country, a person climbed on a certain part of the wire rope of the winch to tie a few pulleys to decompose gravity, stood on the pole to operate, and finally lifted successfully. In the face of the facts, foreigners have no choice but to admit defeat. As a result, Ning Hai'an was rated as a model worker, and Ning Hai'an's deeds were also compiled into programs and materials related to the company's literature and art. In 1982, Master Ning Haian was transferred to the construction site of Zhuzhou Xiangnitrogen, and at that time, I had not yet been transferred to work in Dongzun. Zhou Guoxiang (Zhou Qian's son in the photo) and I lived in a dilapidated house in the small courtyard of Xiangni in Zhuzhou and exchanged installation experience with each other. At that time, the work and life were very hard, and I was taking cold showers in the winter, but there was joy in the suffering.
2. Haircuts for Japanese experts Kazuo Kazuo Kazumoto and Mr. Yamashita
In 1985, I was transferred from Sihua Construction Company to work in Dong Nitrogen. One day in April 1986, we were installing and debugging the woven bag garden loom and wire drawing machine and other equipment imported from Japan by the Dong Nitrogen Bag Making Branch. At this time, Comrade Gao Junling of the team led Comrade Jin Xuefeng, who was then the deputy chief of the Science and Technology Department of Yuehua General Factory, to find me and asked me to cut Mr. Translator's hair. I readily agreed, so I asked Mr. Kim, "How did you know I could get a haircut?" and "People said you could get a haircut, so they came to you". So we smiled and went to the office on the third floor together, and used a pair of coarse cloth scissors to cut his hairstyle to his satisfaction. After the cut, he said "Thank you, not bad", I said, "No thanks", he asked, "How did you learn this hand?" I said, "It's usually fun, but I learned blindly", and Jin Translator gave me a thumbs up.
Japanese experts Kazuo Kazuo Kazumoto and Mr. Yamashita saw that the hair of the golden translator had become shorter and he looked more energetic, so he couldn't wait to ask where he had cut it. Translator Kim told him that he had cut it by a young man from the branch. Mr. Shenyuan ran his long hair through his hand and asked if he could cut one for him as well. So Translator Jin came to me again and made an appointment for a haircut. At about 5 o'clock in the afternoon, we came to the office on the third floor of the branch, and there were Zhuo Junming (female), the director of the branch, Duan Ruqiang, the engineer, and Jin Yiyi. Mr. Shenyuan looked at the coarse cloth scissors in my hand (in the 80s of the last century, in order to catch up with the fashion, the general trendy hair salon only used scissors, rarely used shaving clippers), and I was worried for a while, I guessed that he might be thinking, this kind of scissors can also be cut? After that, I carefully cut the hairstyles of Kazuo Kazuo Kazumoto and Mr. Yamashita to the satisfaction of them. Mr. Shenyuan said yes to the mirror repeatedly, and said something to the interpreter Mr. Kim. Through the translation, I learned that Mr. Shenyuan wanted me to open a hair salon in Japan, and he covered all the expenses and rent, and also said how to make money by developing a salon in Japan. I smiled and said, "I'm so grateful, but I can't go because I can't leave my country." Shen Yuan looked at me with an incomprehensible expression. At that time, I had the habit of writing a diary, and the matter of cutting my hair was written in my diary, and it was also published in the "Dongting Workers' Daily" and "Yueyang Evening News". At that time, during the days spent with Japanese experts and Kim Translator and Wang Translator of the City Tourism Company, I also learned a lot of simple Japanese, and now I can come with my mouth open. This is also something that I will never forget.
In addition, I did not have much dealings with foreign specialists. Sometimes, when I meet them head-on, I deliberately use broken English to speak, such as: Hello, thank you, etc.
3. Carry forward the spirit of craftsmen and conduct technical competitions
In order to build a high-quality workforce of the enterprise, build the craftsman of the enterprise, cultivate the spirit of the craftsman of the enterprise, and vigorously advocate the spirit of "doing a line of love, drilling a line of fine work", give employees high honor and treatment. In front of the office building, the company held a technical competition of a certain scale. In 1988 and 1990, I participated in the 3rd and 5th "Machinery Category" technical competitions and won the first and second place. Through several competitions, I found my own shortcomings and the space for improvement. After obtaining the law diploma of "Xiangtan University" in 1991, after the Spring Festival in February 1993, he was transferred to the "Legal Affairs Office of the Enterprise Management Office" of the Dongjin Headquarters and began to work as a corporate legal counsel until 2000, when the relevant departments of Sinopec implemented flat management and entered Sinopec Baling Petrochemical.
Fourth, embark on the road of learning and using the law
In order to create a team of compound legal counsel who understand law and management, Dongni has created a strong learning atmosphere. In 1993, I passed the National Unified Examination for Lawyers' Qualifications and obtained the Lawyer's Qualification Certificate, and in 1998, I passed the first batch of the National Unified Examination for Corporate Legal Counsel's Qualifications and obtained the Lawyer's Qualification Certificate. From February 1994 to December 1999, he participated in the "Lawyer Practice" and other training courses sponsored by the "China University of Political Science and Law" twice, and obtained the corresponding certificates.
Since 2001, in order to do a good job in the management and follow-up education of legal counsel for enterprises registered in the system of Hunan Provincial Commission of Economy and Information Technology and State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission. The Hunan Provincial Commission of Economy and Information Technology and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council held continuing education and training courses for corporate legal counsel at the Changsha Cadre Management College every two years. Each training session will be used as the basis for the assessment of the registration and filing of corporate legal counsel. To this end, I have participated in all the legal professional registration trainings since the first session.
Since engaging in legal counsel work in Dongni, he has been hired by the Yueyang City Leading Group for Governing the City by Law and the Yueyang City Leading Group for Law Popularization for 10 years as a "Yueyang City Leading Cadre Law Study and 'Third Five-Year' and 'Fourth Five-Year' Legal Popularization and Legal Counselor". He was awarded the advanced element of Yueyang City's "Law Popularization and Law", and joined the members of the National Lawyers Association and the Yueyang Law Society. In 2003, he was appointed as an arbitrator of the third Yueyang Arbitration Commission. From 1995 to 1996, he was awarded the honorary titles of "Excellent Contract Administrator of "Contract-honoring and Trustworthy Enterprise", Notarial Liaison of Yueyang Notary Office, Outstanding Party Member of the Enterprise, Advanced Element of "Safety and Environmental Protection" of the Enterprise, and Outstanding Corporate Legal Counsel by the Yueyang Municipal Government for two consecutive years. In 2000, after I was transferred to the legal department of "Sinopec Baling Petrochemical Company", which was established by Dong Nitrogen Plant, Yingshan Petrochemical and Yuehua General Plant, I was in charge of litigation work and fully defended the rights and interests of the company, and was awarded the title of "Excellent Legal Counsel of Sinopec Group".
5. Employed as a teacher at Dongnitrogen TV University
In 1994, I was hired by the Enterprise Education and Training Center as a teacher of the "Economic Law" course of Sinopec Dong Nitrogen TV University. I recall that in the year of the graduation examination of the students of the University of Electronic Technology, I went to the headquarters of Changsha University of Electric Power with Mr. Xiao Hanfei (accountant), who was in his 50s, to find out the bottom of the content of the examination. At that time, I was in my early 30s, and I had a brute spirit, and the two of them bought more than 100 catties of watermelons, and I carried Mr. Xiao on my back from Yueyang to Changsha Railway Station on a green train, and then transferred to the bus to the headquarters of the TV University, and gave it to the teachers who wrote the questions. Although he was tired of being a fierce man, he was out of breath. But Mr. Xiao saw that the students had achieved excellent results, and he felt that the trip was not in vain. In July 2023, after I posted the photo of the lecture on Douyin, Comrade Ma Liancun of Dongnitrogen Electric recognized me at a glance in Douyin, and immediately sent me a private message to me: "You also served us as a teacher at the University of Electrical Engineering", I am very happy, I can still recognize me after 30 years.
Sixth, walk into the cave nitrogen poverty alleviation point
From 1998 to 1999, Yueyang built poverty alleviation. The Dongnitrogen poverty alleviation point is Lily Village, Nanjiang Town, Pingjiang County. At that time, Dongni sent an outstanding party member and cadre, Comrade Cai Deqin, to serve as the leader of the poverty alleviation team and walked into this mountain village. During the period of poverty alleviation, he worked with village cadres and others to analyze the causes of poverty and find the right medicine. Since then, Dong Nitrogen has built a Hope Primary School for the village, which means to hold up the hope for the future of the mountainous area. On March 6, 1999, I walked with my colleagues from the enterprise management office of the unit to the poverty alleviation point with the books, clothes, and fertilizers donated by the unit and employees for Murakami.
In 2000, Cai Deqin was sent to another poverty alleviation point, Qianlianghu Farm, Wufenchang Fuwan Village, in the same year, I made a special trip to see him, he was very moved, full of tears of excitement to me: He lives in a poverty alleviation village, transportation is inconvenient, communication is inconvenient, no relatives, the villagers are his relatives. At night, there is often no electricity, I can't watch TV, and I often feel lonely and difficult to adapt. When I went to see him from Yueyang, I did relieve him of many sorrows and bring him great happiness, so I felt very warm and cordial. In 2012, Cai Deqin was transferred to work in a large central enterprise in Inner Mongolia. The two have not seen each other for 8 years. In July 2020, Comrade Cai Deqin returned to Yueyang from Inner Mongolia to visit relatives, and we gathered again, toasted and drank freely, and recalled the bits and pieces of poverty alleviation points together.
7. Looking forward to blessings
In the past 50 years, Dong Nitrogen has experienced ups and downs, all the way through the wind and rain, leaving many memorable past events. In June 2023, Sinopec established a super-large petrochemical enterprise to promote the integrated development of two major enterprises in the Yueyang area, Baling Petrochemical Company and Changling Refining & Chemical Company. It marks the start of the "aircraft carrier" of Hunan's trillion-dollar modern petrochemical industry.
We have reason to believe that in the new era and new journey, the newly established Hunan Petrochemical Company will live up to its mission, and will strive to take the lead in leading the trillion-dollar modern petrochemical industry cluster in Hunan and write a great glory in the new era. I sincerely wish "Sinopec Hunan Petrochemical Co., Ltd." and Dongni people to start a new journey!
